Hi I'm Karen

I'm a wife, mother of 5, an R.N. and I play tennis. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 25 years, have 5 children, a daughter-in-law, and a son-in-law. I am a Registered Nurse and for 11 years I worked in hospitals; specializing in Neuro ICU and Adult Critical-Care. Currently, I work part-time as a substitute school nurse, and also as a clinical instructor for CNA students. Nursing has been a perfect career for me because of the variety of hours and "types" of work available. And the additional income has been a blessing for our family. Tennis has also been a big part of my life, and after playing in school, I continued to play on several competitive club teams in my community. I love to travel and especially enjoy "beach" vacations and family reuinions.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon church, and baptized when I was 8 years old. I can't remember a time that I didn't believe in the teachings of the church......they ALWAYS made sense to me. The Word of Wisdom made sense, keeping the Sabbath Day holy made sense, the Law of Chastity made sense, Tithing made sense, being sealed as families made sense, the Book of Mormon made sense, and it especially made sense that the Lord would have a prophet and apostles on the Earth today........ just like in ancient times. I learned early on that following these "unchanging" laws of God would lead to safety and our greatest happiness in this life. My "logical" testimony has since been confirmed many times by the Holy Ghost; and I know that this is the only true church on the earth today. I wouldn't want to live any other way.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving with the young women in our ward, (ages 12-18), as well as with other adult leaders. We plan Sunday lessons, weekly activities, service activites, neighborhood activities, summer camp, and lots more! I am also a part of the women's organization, I volunteer in the schools and serve on the board of a scholarship organization.
