Hi I'm Jean

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a special education teacher for students with significant disabilities. I love to garden, nature, and being among the creations that our Heavenly Father has given to us for our use and benefit. I love music, reading and animals. I enjoy wood carving and making simple furniture from scraps of lumber. My best creation being the bridge over my hand-dug koi pond. I have created a wildlife habitat in my yard to help God's creatures during the winter months and as a way-station during migrations to and from their nesting areas.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church at the age of 15 as the direct result of missionaries tracting on our street when I lived a year in Illinois. My mother, father and my older brother joined after one month of the discussions. I have been through many, many trials during my life, but the Gospel has always been an anchor to my soul and a light to my feet. I have a testimony that the Lord hears and answers our prayers. He has answered mine time and time again. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and short comings and that He died that we might live again with God the Eternal Father. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he saw and heard the Father and the son. He was the instrument in the hands of the Lord in restoring to the earth those sacred principles and doctrines that had been lost over time. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book of scripture and that when one reads it with the intent of receiving a witness of it's nature-that person will know for a surety of it's truthfulness.

How I live my faith

I am a primary teacher and thoroughly enjoy teaching the children the stories, doctrines and simple truths of the Gospel. I take very seriously the importance of visiting the sisters I have been assigned to watch over. I go the the temple often and enjoy being immersed in the spirit that is there. I do indexing for the family history. I have been on a mission when I was 23 and hope to be called again to serve the Lord in this capacity. I also desire to serve by working in the temple.
