Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a college student, a big brother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently, I'm a college student studying Computer Science. I am the oldest of four kids in my family, and the first to leave the house. I enjoy playing sports, practicing my trumpet and piano, and spending time with my family and friends. Oh, and I love the outdoors as well - especially scuba diving. There's nothing like the underwater. I'd like to think of myself as an "average joe" that's doing my best to be a good person and make the world a better place.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but that doesn't mean I didn't have to make the decision to be Mormon. I couldn't pinpoint exactly when, but there came a point where I decided for myself and knew this Gospel was the full restorded Gospel of Jesus Chirst on the Earth, and that it is true. I made that choice and never looked back - and I have been extremely grateful for it. Being a Mormon has blessed my life so much for many reasons. Because of it, I have a knowledege of where I came from, who I am, why I'm here, and where I'm going after this life. That alone gives me hope and comfort in a world full of trials. Additionally, I know that because of the promises I've made with Heavenly Father, I can live and be with my family forever (and not just until "death do you part"). There are many other reasons why I'm a Mormon, but what it comes down to is that I've found out for myself that's it's true and it has blessed my life incredibly.

How I live my faith

Every aspect of my life is at least a little influenced by my faith. Between early morning religion classes before school every day in high school, to the activities with other people my age, and the chances I have to help other people. In the past, I have served as leaders of youth groups and more recently helped handle the finances of our local congergation. However, some of the best moments of living my faith are when I try to follow the example of Christ and help others through some sort of service. Whether it be a friendly smile and conversation to someone who may need it or chopping wood for an elderly lady every week, my faith has influenced me to help other people a great deal.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

You can see that with all the different churches out there and all the different dissagrements of the same Bible, that much has changed with Christianity after Christ's day. The leaders of the church that Christ had (the 12 apostles for example) were killed off, and none of that continued to help lead and guide the church the way Christ wanted. As a result, there needed to be a "bringing back" of the same church that Christ had. Why complain about recieving more of God's word? It can only help! Show more Show less
