Hi I'm Stacy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two sons and two daughters. It was my life long goal to be a wife and mother first. I worked hard raising my children. We had a lot of fun together along the way. We are a family that loves to travel and experience life. I have been married to my best friend for over 35 years and we still go out every Friday night. It was my goal to go back to college after my last baby started kindergarten. I had always wanted to be a school teacher and achieved that goal. I currently teach in Special Education and love every minute of it. My students bring me great joy in this rewarding career!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a child I struggled with reading. At church we were encouraged to read our scriptures and I had a difficult time doing so. Back in the olden days we had a thing called a record player and my parents had a set of the Book of Mormon records. I asked my mom if I could bring the giant 3 foot square record player into my bedroom and listen to the records every night before I went to bed. My mother, in her wisdom, told me I could only if I read along in my personal copy of the Book of Mormon. I agreed and I am so glad I followed her wisdom. It took me several months to finish slowly reading and listening to this precious record. Had I only listened, I know I would have just fallen asleep at night and not got as much out of the book. Because I followed along as the reader and read the text, I gained great insight into the messages of the book and the spirit of the book weaved into my heart. Many nights I fell a sleep pondering the great wonders of the world. Everything I read I knew to be true. The spirit of the Lord touched my heart and I cried so many happy tears from the knowledge I had gained. I had many feelings of peace come over me during this time. I knew my Heavenly Father loved me and I felt His presents many times as I listened/read the scriptures.

How I live my faith

I am active in my church today, but let me tell you, I am not perfect. I have made, and will probably continue to make mistakes. Some of these were bad choices I had to deal with, yet because I have gained a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ through reading The Book of Mormon, I know our Heavenly Father is a loving man and he has forgiven me and continues to do so. That gives me the comfort to go on when I am feeling down and or desperate. There are times in my life when I wanted to quit praying. Sometimes I did. There have also been some very tragic situations in my life that I could barely live through and almost didn't, but the one thing that has kept me going is knowing the love my Heavenly Father shows me and my family. With all the horrible things life can throw at you, one of my worst experiences was the loss of my 27 year old son to a fatal motorcycle accident. The loss of him ripped my world apart. The experience was so horrible that at times I could barely breathe. Yet, even living through the nightmare, I was blessed because I could still feel the loving spirit as my Heavenly Father helped me through the terrible experience. I have come away from this with the sure knowledge that someday my son will be united with our family again. I want to bare my testimony that I know that Jesus is the Christ, God lives, there are Prophets living today and The Book of Mormon has all the answers to life's important questions. I promise you, if you read The Book of Mormon with the best intent, you too can feel something special, just as I did as a young child.
