Hi I'm Allison

I've lived all over the United States. I love the outdoors and being active oh and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student who loves working with animals. I also love bicycling, running, rock climbing, hiking and pretty much anything you can do outside. I enjoy spending time with my family and taking family vacations with them. My dad is active duty in the military and I've been able to live all over the United States. It's been great growing up exposed to different cultures and areas!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and so I was always raised with the values and teachings of the gospel. However, there comes a point where I needed to find out for myself if the church was true. When I was in middle school, I got the opportunity to go on a camping trip with the other girls from church. During the trip we had time to ourselves where we could go study and pray. I had been working to find an answer about if the church was true. Or if this was just something I had to believe in because my family was all members. It was during that trip, that I received the answer to my prayer and I found out for myself that the church was true. As I've grown my own testimony I've been able to see how the Lord works and blesses me in my life. Having the church in my life has helped anchor me as I've moved around and have to start over each time. The church is the same no matter where you go. It has been a comfort and strength when times were tough.

How I live my faith

I live my faith with my day to day interactions with those I encounter at school, as well as my coworkers. I also work with the young single adults in our ward. These are adults between ages 18-30. I plan activities where we can get to know each other and do different and exciting activities. These activities aren't only for those of our faith, but others attend as well. We've gone camping, played laser tag, service projects and many other events. The activities we do help us build lasting friendships and lead toward marriage.

What is being a Mormon like?

Allison
Being a member of the church of Jesus Christ is incredible. At times, it may seem like it is difficult to be a member because of the "rules." As I've grown I've learned that these rules aren't really rules. Instead, they provide and give us protection in our daily lives. We maintain a high standard in all we do. When you live the gospel principles it isn't hard and the rules don't seem to be rules. My daily activities are regular and similar to those who aren't members of the church. I wake up and go for a run in the mornings. Then I either attend my college class work or I go to work in a science lab. I come home, eat dinner and spend time with friends. I love being a member and having a church community that supports and helps one another out. Members of my ward have inspired me to be better an live a better, more Christ centered life. I love being a member. Show more Show less
