Hi I'm Gayla

I am a wife and mother of 5 children. I love to spend time with my family, make and eat delicious desserts, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I love the nice weather, the wonderful environment and the people who surround me here in Arizona. I met my husband in Provo, Utah at BYU our freshman year. He served a mission to Haiti and I served in Anaheim, California, Spanish speaking. After both of our missions and a “Dear John” that turned out to be a false alarm we got back together and were married. After we had enjoyed many years of schooling and job training my sweet husband consented to bring me back to my hometown of Mesa. My parents and siblings all live here in the area and we love getting together to enjoy each other and to let the cousins play together. We recently built a new home across the street from my sister and her family in the neighborhood where we grew up. I feel like I gained an education in home building this past year and really enjoyed the wonderful but stressful process. We love living here right by our family.

Why I am a Mormon

As a family we love to water ski, snow ski, and other outdoor activities When we’re at home we love making delicious desserts and enjoying them together. We also love playing games together. As a mother, I feel that it is important to keep an organized, clean home and to create a loving environment in the home. Even though I graduated from BYU in accounting and take care of some of the accounting at my husband’s work, my main occupation is that of a homemaker. Taking care of my family is what brings me the greatest joy. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to take care of their needs and spend time loving them every day.

How I live my faith

I was born and raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Living as an active Mormon has been easy for me since I have been doing it my whole life. I grew up with this lifestyle of going to church every Sunday and keeping the Sabbath day holy along with keeping many other commandments. This is not why I am a Mormon today. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I believe that He was born in Bethlehem and that He performed countless miracles while He was on the earth. I believe that He died on the cross and atoned for our sins. Through Him we will all be resurrected and have the opportunity to live with Him and with our families in heaven someday. I have prayed to our Heavenly Father and have received answers through the Holy Ghost. Through this I know these things for myself, not just because my parents believe them.
