Hi I'm Moses Gungunyane GG for short

I'm a striving to be a Follower of Christ its the Quest of my Life. I love Christ ,being sarcastic and maybe I am funny sometimes

About Me

Wow I am Moses and the gospel has changed my life .am now a better person if it was not for the elders [misionaries of the church of Jesus Christ of latterday saints] I do not know where I will be with my family now we are at one with my family.I had questions which were answered by the gospel like who am I?or where do I go after this life ?Now I know the purpose for my life it is to prepare to meet God through faith in his Son Jesus that through his atonement [suffering in garden of Gathsmane, and also on the cross and death on Calvary and his ressurection on the third day from the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea] we can be saved and live in Gods presence again.I have nothing to say its my own except the knowledge wrought through the Spirit that I have a Father in Heaven who lives and His son Jesus Christ its the treasure I hold dear to me and then my family which I love eternally.am not praising the church but the gospel which am now converted too and then the church on how it saved me from the devil snares which where always around me growing up from a not so good neighbourhood next to almost all the addictions you may think of(night club, drugs, prostitution, tobacco, marijuana and etc) and seeing people die and voilence because of the influene of any addiction.I am not define of where i come from but what i have, will still become through Jesus Christ and his true gospel.I love art .I can only give my attention to family and to potential friends whom i have not yet met and friends

Why I am a Mormon

how i came in contact with the church it was through a sister who stayed at home with us played hymns which made me feel good and she took me to church with her every Sunday, i did not only learn of God and his Son i learnt how they want to be involved in my life through making covenants with me. my family through the missionaries started to come to church also.our lives changed for the best though we had nothing only each other that truth of eternal families made us more united in cause of following Christ making it a family vision and and i felt the spirit of belonging and had that sense of identity.i knew of the Holy Ghost because i first felt it there at their church services and its what i found in it.i know God lives and his nature and the relationship we share because of the book of Mormon.i know God and Jesus Christ they have a plan of happiness.now i have confidence to say They live and this church is true because of the Holy Spirit.after all i have said its through sincere prayer with an intent to act to follow Christ in his church. The reason why i am member of the true and living church its what i have become and the hope for the future as in i know there is life after death and families can be eternal through ordinances done in the temples. It does not sound good or feel good but the Holy Spirit bore witness of these and many more truths to me.The truth found in the Book of Mormon helped me to be what i am member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the church in Alabama part of the bible belt everyone here loves Jesus and people always ask me why Alabama where people already know the bible ?The bible wont give us salvation but Jesus Christ will and also they do not have the knowledge of a living prophet of God.I am teaching the gospel its what I love the most as I see how it changes human nature mostly mine than theirs. Each day I wake I pray for the strength to be better in loving those around me,to be more kind and tolerate because they is no person who plans to give me a hard time but because we are human we sometimes offend people so I need the strength to let go and forgive as I need to be forgiven by God.I study the Book of Mormon each day so to draw closer to my Maker and feel the presence of peace and that of the Spirit of God what I read and pray to know has stayed with me for the knowledge from the Spirit is not lost but its written on my soul and I share that truth with others I try to live in way that pleases God than people. We have general conference when the church leaders like the prophets and apostles address us so I strive to apply what I learn from them each day like they gave a call for missionaries to serve and now am a missionary because they are the Lord's mouth piece on earth.I strive to do what my Saviour would do and would have me do as I bear his name.I am his follower and will do all I can to act as such

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
Its Thomas S Monson but God has called prophets to lead His Church in our day, just as He did anciently. The current prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. He is assisted by two counselors—Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uctdorf. Together, they make up the First Presidency of the Church (much like Peter, James, and John after Christ’s death). All members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are apostles and prophets. The current Apostles are: Boyd K. Packer L. Tom Perry Russell M. Nelson Dallin H. Oaks Richard G. Scott Robert D. Hales Jeffrey R. Holland David A. Bednar Quentin L. Cook D. Todd Christofferson Neil L. Andersen M. Russell Ballard THIS IS KNOWLEDGE WHICH US SETS APART TO HAVE CONTINUOUS REVELATION FROM GOD THROUGH HIM I LOVE THE PROPHET I KNOW HE IS CALLED OF GOD BECAUSE HIS COUNSELS AND HAVE KEPT ME SAFE FROM THE STORMS OF THE WORLD.TWO TIMES A YEAR WE GET A RECENT REVELATION FOR OUR TIME AND THAT SHOWS THAT GOD LOVES US AS HE LOVED THE PEOPLE IN THE OLD WORLD AND NEW TESTAMENT TIMES.HE IS TRULY A MAN CALLED OF GOD WHEN I HEED TO HIS COUNSEL I FEEL THE SAVIOUR'S LOVE FOR ME AS THIS IS HIS CHURCH AND HE IS HIS MOUTH PIECE TODAY. Who was Joseph Smith?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
Joseph Smith Jr was a young boy who sought the true church of Christ as none of the faiths seemed to draw him closer to God.He read the Bible but it was not enough as people were using it as a battle ground as interpretation differed from each faith but was God divided no he was not is Jesus the author of confusion ?no he is not he glories in unity as we learn one Lord ,one faith ane baptism these and some other thoughts pressed down his mind.looking for answers from people didnt help so he read the Bible and was touched by James 1:5 ,he knew he lacked wisdom about Christ's church which one was it from the many that surrounded him.he chose to pray and ask his God,my God ,your God.he went to a grove of trees near his home were he could be alone as he poured his heart to God,he prayed with intent to know and act.he saw a vision that has changed the world he saw God the Father and the Son Jesus Christ.this all happenned when he was 14 years and it did not end there as the heavens were opened again three years later heavenly beings appeared to him preparing him for the Restoration of the churh of Jesus Christ.he is a prophet like other biblical prophets ,Moses,Isaiah who were given the power to act in GOD'S name Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
we need to constantly believe that we need God in our lives and that we depend on him he does not us and would not lose his glory but its us who need him for all we need and for us to become what he is.humility plays a huge role in how we increase faith because it allows us to allow our will to be submitted to God's will.then we need to desire to please God and Jesus Christ i have realised in my life when i want to please them i want to be what they want me to be.each day i take to study the scriptures and pray to God sincerely as a child talks to his father i have seen that when get off my knees am a better child burdens have been lifted off my shoulder and i experience the power of forgiveness and most of all his love which he has for me.obedience to God takes a lot as i do not fully understand what am asked to do but because i love and trust him and has also told me he does not what blind faith but he wants someone whose willing to see things as he would have me too.i can pray to tell Him its hard or i do not know how to do it please help me,or letting Him know i have doubts but please help me to do what thou have need of me.as we have experiences where God answers our prayers i feel my faith is stronger and when i fast to know or have an answer to a question or a need it brings me more joy.the small and simple things 1- desire to please God 2-trusting that He knows whats best for us 3-prayer 4-scripture study 5-attaining attributes of faith, patience, charity, etc 6-desiring Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
The reason is called the Firs Vision its because its the first one in this dispensation which changed the world this how it began. The world had lost the true knowledge of the nature of God and people thought that the Heavens were closed no man can have contact with God because that thread which binds us to God was broken and its through prophets. As a boy, Joseph Smith was surrounded by various churches which, though they disagreed with on another, each claimed to teach the truth. This caused him much serious reflection. He wanted to know which church was right. One day he read a passage in the Bible which says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). Joseph decided to accept the invitation to ask God. In the spring of 1820, Joseph went to a grove of trees near his home and prayed to learn which church he should join. In answer to his prayer, Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him. Joseph wrote: “When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” Joseph was told to join none of the churches that existed at that time as the priesthood authority and Church as Jesus Christ had organized it when He was on the earth had been lost over the centuries. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
Most peole we know that there is a God and feel his love and influence and we always acknowledge that when the impossible are made possible we know that its him.We receive a witness of countless things which always make us have feelings of love toward our fellow man so a testimony its a knowledge which can not be found in books or in movies but its rather felt or its a knowing that we cannot provide at times evidence of the existance of our belief. Most people when a baby is born into a family we acknowledge that its a blessing from God we feel closer to God and each other. When you lose a loved one and having that feeling that its going to be ok and you do feel ok you will know from that moment that God aided you up and is real because of what you overcame because you believed in him.A testimony is a spiritual witness given to an individual by the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. The foundation of a Mormon’s testimony is the knowledge that Heavenly Father lives and loves us; that Jesus Christ lives, that He is the Son of God, and that He carried out the infinite Atonement; that Joseph Smith is a prophet, which God called to restore Jesus Christ’s church to the earth; that we are led today by a living prophet; and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior’s Church restored on the earth today. Most people we have a spiritual witness or knowledge on some certain things which help us to be grounded and endure well what we face or a hope for eternal life Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
As a missionary serving in the south one of my favourite questions to ask people is what they thought was the nature of God ? I usually surprised of the response because most people would be describing Jesus Christ so it hurts me that they do not know that God is their Heavenly Father one of the special witnesses of Christ in the church said of God although he is the most Majestic,Supreme being,Creator of all the titles God chooses us to call him Father why I may ask myself for when I know the relationship which I share with him I will know my divine nature as his child and also my potential in his his eyes.I know he is my Father because I have felt his presence in the hardest times of my life to the most blissful times I know he would never forsake his children but he will do all he can for me his child to know I am his to keep but he would never force himself upon me but will wait for me to call on Him and his hand of love in my life which has showed me forgiveness when I was repenting as he forgave me through his mercy and a gift which he provided through the greatest act of love the atoning sacrifice of Christ for our sins.I have seen God as all the good things in life come from him and anything which inspires me as his child to do good is from him,I know the devil will never bring an ounce of happiness in my life but misery.I love God and he is my Father and when I say that I have a good feeling of comfort in my heart and I know he is real as I am real because He is Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
I am a young man and as I have been facing life at times it was hard for me as I battled for acceptance and because I wanted to know who I am I have realised that I always yearned for the praise of my mum and dad and also my sibling because to them I am what I am and they accept me as what I am surprised that my family made feel what my friends could not make me feel I felt the acceptance which I needed and they were always they to help me whether I fall or I stand on none solid ground or when I was on foreign ground.I know it God my Heavenly Father's plan for me to feel his love and for me to learn of him because if I feel acceptance and have a sense of belonging from my family so does He offer it to me through the gift of my family. My family is important to me because of the things which they have done for me please do not take this as blasphemy but as they greater has no man that he dieth for his friends of course it refers to Christ but my Family has Christlike love I have witnessed it countless times when my family sacrificed on my behalf just for me to serve a mission for the church I owe them all that I posses. Our families provide a setting for much of the growth we experience in life. In my families we love, serve, teach, and learn from each other. We share our joys and our sorrows. Family ties may bring us difficult challenges, but they also give us strength and some of our greatest happiness. The family is central to God’s plan for His children. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
There are many things which denote that we have a Father in Heaven who loves us and also knows us more than we can comprehend and through the associations which we have from our families and the talents we have. I have realised that whenever I'm inspired to do good and want to be better because these feeling ought to come from somewhere and its even the capability to love and also want to help anyone who is in need because we see them more than their situations we see them as children of God. So how can I know that I have Father in Heaven its through what we do like when we want to know or make a friend we take a chance or a step of faith because we do not know what will happen afterwards. I have realised if we take the time to talk to God and have an assurance that he listening and will help us this will in turn motivate us to be more open and share our deepest feelings and fears because we know he is our Father because its through the Holy Ghost that we know that he is our Father as it testifies to our spirits .I know its a knowledge which all of us can have if we only knew that God is always inviting us to know him and that he wants to be involved in our lives and wants important to us its also important to him because we are everything to him as He is to us. When I read the testimonies of the prophets both old and modern it draws me closer to him and also when I do what he commands me I am showing I want to know him.Its through covenants or making promises we know him Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
My family there were baptised when I was young I was around six years old oh how I wanted to be baptised but I had to wait till I had reached the age of accountabilty so that I can make a conenant with God. The reason why I wanted to be baptised was so that I can follow the example of Jesus Christ of obedience to the Father through obedience and its through us making promises with God we access most of the blessing which God offers us like remmission of ous sins, the gift of the Holy Ghost comes through the laying of hands after baptism by water because they complete each other. The reason why our converts are baptised its because its the only way they can enjoy or access most of the blessings which Jesus offers members of his church those who taken upon them his name at the waters of baptism. When a converts chooses to be baptised he or she is making a choice to serve his fellow brothers and sisters because salvation is more than an individual thing sometimes we need people to support us or fellowship us so that we would not give up the fight or race before it is done.Through the ordinance of baptism, we make a promise, called a covenant, with God. We promise to accept Christ, to become His followers, and to keep His commandments to the end of our lives. In return, our Heavenly Father promises to forgive our sins and let us return to live with Him, provided we keep our covenants. I love the choice I made to be baptised its the best I have made in my life its a blessing Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
Heavenly Father knew we'd sometimes make wrong choices, He provided a way for us to be forgiven of our sins He provided a Saviour, Jesus Christ, who suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and on Calvary so that when we sincerely repent, we can be forgiven When we sincerely repent, we: ◾Confess the sin to both God and anyone who has been harmed by our sin. ◾Ask forgiveness from God and from anyone we have harmed. ◾When possible, repair the damage we have done. ◾Forsake our sins. ◾Strive to keep the commandments. We need to believe its never ever too late to turn to God and they is no sin too great to be forgiven he will give us as many chances we need. Though we have we have to wade through the much pain as we drink the bitter cup till we are forgiven I know the path of forgiveness its not easy but there is always Balm of Gilead. The Saviour has always offered to help us as we turn to him he knows we can not walk alone or do it with out his help and he is always petitioning you and I that his arms of mercy are open and he will receive us and we are always worthy of his atonement no matter what sin stains our lives. We need to quickly come to ourselves and realise our divine nature and how we also need divine help to get rid of the guilt and also to have spiritual healing. We can feel the love, mercy, compassion, forgiveness from our Heavenly Father through the atonement of His Son and always the Holy Ghost will confirm to us if we are forgiven so its Never Too Late ! Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
As a missionary serving in the South most of the people I have met have been baptised more than once or they do not want to be baptised again. Authority to baptise its so important because it is recognised here on earth as it is in heaven as how the Saviour promised Peter the priesthood or the authority to act in his name when he ascended to heaven (Matt16:19) Later on we learn that the Saviour authorises people to act in his name like in Acts the apostles always said we baptise in the name of Jesus Christ like Acts19:3-6. Authority brings validity to the ordinance performed like the Saviour walked four days to be baptised of John the Baptist because of authority and in Matthew 3:13-17 and our Heavenly Father was pleased of his Son because he baptised by someone who has authority. We will get a confirmation to know if authority is important and I have received myself to know if my baptism was valid in this church and I know it is because God gave me a witness. Authority makes things valid like a policeman can arrest or give a ticket to someone whose speeding because he is authorised to do so because it was given to him.In 1829 Joseph Smith received the priesthood authority to organize Christ’s Church from Heavenly Messengers who had held this authority anciently including the prophet John the Baptist and apostles Peter, James, and John. In 1830 the same Church of Jesus Christ that existed centuries ago was organized and restored to the earth. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Moses Gungunyane GG for short
Heavenly Father placed in all of us a gift to be able to recognise or search for truth and know it when we hear it and feel it being taught. All of us can approach God through prayer as he is the source of truth and is so willing to answer our question because he wants to see us happy because we are his children and th truth will set us free. He God has blessed with the influence of his Spirit called the Holy Ghost to help us recognise truth or if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. This church always requires us to use our faith to ask God to know if it is true and if our souls will gain those things sufficient for our salvation. Sincerely pray to your Heavenly Father. Ask Him if what you are learning is true. Continue to study and give thoughtful consideration to what you are learning. Listen with your heart for the sweet feelings of inspiration from the Holy Ghost, who will to whisper the truth to your spirit and mind. Follow God’s commandments so you can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost. You may have experienced feelings of peace, hope, comfort, or happiness as you’ve read. If so, you have already felt the Holy Ghost telling you that these things are true. I myself had to know for myself and ask and through the feelings which I had which dispersed doubt I knew that God would not lie to me because the devil can not bring peace to my heart. I know its true because of what I have become and still striving to be more like the Saviour Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
