Hi I'm Maggie

I love to read, hike, and dance, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Maggie! I'm an sophomore majoring in accounting at Brigham Young University Provo. I'm an avid dancer (clogging, folk dance, and ballroom) and I am currently serving an LDS mission in Bahia Blanca, Argentina.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but when I was 12-13 I really doubted it. I started doubting the testimonies of others, and, more importantly, realized I didn't really have one of my own. I decided to try attending other churches, which didn't really work, because I was 12-13 without a way to get around, but I did attend the catholic church with my friend. I felt a good spirit there, but I didn't get the feeling of peace that I felt with the LDS church. I finally decided to do what Moroni councils to do- to read the Book of Mormon and to "ask God". I really had an experience kind of like Joseph Smith's. Right before I prayed I had the worst thoughts, the most incredible feeling of doubt and hopeless frustration flooded through me, but the moment I started praying, it left. I was left with peace, and I KNEW it was true. I've worked through gaining a testimony of the principles in this church, and I have felt the Lord testify of its truth. Even now, as I write, I can feel the peace brought by the Lord as a testament to the truth of His gospel. My faith isn't always perfect, but just because my experiences didn't all happen last week doesn't make them any less true. I have a testimony because I've experimented and felt the peace of the Lord. And you can too.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission, but previously I've served as counselors and presidents in my young women's classes; organized the sacrament meeting program, ward facebook page, and ward group text; and planned fast sunday ward-wide meals and devotionals in my YSA ward. I strive to help in any way I can and have an attitude of "whatever you need" in regards to serving the Lord through His Church.
