Hi I'm Catya or Cat

I'm a little crazy and unexpected. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love all sorts of music and movies. I work at a movie theater, but I have bigger goals. I love history, religious history especially and I would love to teach it one day. I'm a good person, I'm strong in my Faith but I'm my own person. All in all my favorite pasttime is learning and gaining knowledge in all things that interest me which are many and varied.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I was born and raised. My Mom's family goes back generations, but my Dad is a convert, his Mother remarried a member of the church when he was a teen. I'll be honest, as a child and a teen for personal reasons I struggled a lot in the Church, but through a few side trips I got myself back on the straight and narrow in my early 20s and learned to love this wonderful Church. I enjoy being a member of this Church because its so simple and easy, and you can still be your own person and be a unique individual. I love the history, the gospel as a whole. I love that you're constantly learning from it and encouraged to learn and search things out. Its not easy, but if it was easy it wouldn't be worth it! One of my favorite aspects of the Church teachings is Family and what it all entails. A family is forever, it is endless and you are encouraged to learn where and who you came from and that helps you better understand yourself. I could go on and on about why I'm a member of this beautiful Faith, but there's only so much room. :)

How I live my faith

I do the basics; read the scriptures, pray and attend my meetings and participate. But I also try to show that we're not all of the same mold and its okay to be different and still be a strong member of the Church. I've always been taught to remember who you are an act accordingly at all times, in all places and in all things. I take this to heart and do my best to try and be the best Mormon I can be as well as being my best self, which are one in the same.

What is being a Mormon like?

Catya or Cat
It's like being a better you, a more secure person, more comfortable and happier all the way around. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Catya or Cat
Besides the typical answers of the Gospel, Scriptures and testimonies of others I see God in his creations, in you and me, in nature and all its beauty, in thunderstorms and rainbows, in the stars in the heavens above. How could these things exist without someone putting them there? He is the ultimate artist, musician, writer and scientist. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Catya or Cat
We're just like any other human being. We live regular lives, we go to work or school, we play, we see movies, listen to music and attend concerts, we go shopping, we watch sports, but we make sure to uphold our standards as we do these things. Show more Show less
