Hi I'm Sharlee

I'm an Idahoan, a wife, daughter, a teacher. I love hot chocolate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a (fairly) newlywed. We've been married just over two years. I am crazy about my husband. He is my best friend. We have a home and a dog and our lives are busy but pretty low key. I have a close relationship with my family, especially with my mom and brother. I am an elementary school teacher. I love my students. Kids are the best people I know. I love watching movies, reading, shooting, cleaning house, trying new recipes, blogging, and the sun. I live for warm weather and sunshine.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I am a Child of God and if I live the teachings of the gospel, I feel closer to Him. I remember who I am and what my purpose is. I am a Mormon because I know the church is true.

How I live my faith

First and foremost I live my Faith by following the commandments the Church teaches. I try to remember to pray daily and read the scriptures. My husband and I both serve in our church. He helps with the researching family history and I serve as a ward missionary. This gives me an opportunity to pray about a message to give and share it with someone who might need to hear it. More often than not, I feel like the message I prepared was actually meant for me. I am honest in all areas of my life. I try to find opportunities to serve others.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mormon temples are houses of worship and education. The purpose of the temple is to help us learn and further understand eternal truths. In addition, it is a place where we are truly able to leave the world behind and draw closer to our Father in Heaven for we are truly in his house. In the temple we make promises to our Heavenly Father. Frequent attendance of the temple allows us to recall those promises. The Spirit that is felt there allows us to find ways to better ourselves and better keep those promises. We also make promises to our spouses and are sealed to our families. We remember those promises as we visit the temple. The temple is not a scary place. It is not strange. It is the most peaceful place that I have ever been. Show more Show less
