Hi I'm Natassja

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I find happiness from the simple things in life. Sporting skirts gives me confidence, I named my houseplant Ava, and I wear my yellow rain boots when it’s sunny outside. For some reason, I always hum when I eat Mexican food. I want people to trust me—tell me their secrets. I have a quick mind that loves learning, especially useful, quotidian smarts like stain remedies or amateur car repair. I notice you trimmed your hair. People rely on me because I work hard, manage my time well, and am dependable. I write thank you notes to professors and send cheer up packages after breakups. I take time to be quiet. I’m rational and analytical, choosing best, not fast. I am obsessed with my curly hair, but want people to noticed other things about me. I force myself to say hi first. I find traveling inspiring. I am calm in a crisis and a solution finder. I am a list maker, always planning and scheduling. I am Natassja, simple enough, right?

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is what brings happiness to my life. There isn't a single day that goes by where I don't see the Lord's hand in my life and am able to recognize the joy the gospel brings to me. The gospel has so many profound, yet simple truths that continually fill me with peace, hope, and love. I love that I know I can be with my family and the ones I love forever, even after this life. I love that I can turn to my Heavenly Father in earnest and personal prayer, and that He will send guidance and answers. I love that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, I can progress and become better every day. I love that by diligently studying the scriptures, they can become unique and personalized for me. I love the gospel! I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I know there are living prophets on the earth today, starting with Joseph Smith and continuing to Thomas S. Monson. I know the Book of Mormon is for our day, and is filled with divinely given truths. I know that Christ lives and that He willingly sacrificed Himself for me, so that I can return to live with Him and Heavenly Father again someday. I know these things, not just believe them. I have felt the solemn and sacred power of the Holy Spirit testify of these truths to both my mind and my heart, leaving no doubt in my mind of their truthfulness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving the people around me. I serve in my ward as a member of the compassionate service committee and I love it! Through this calling, I am able to look and find ways to serve those around me, giving assistance and encouragement, both physically and emotionally. Life is hard and there are times for all of us where we just need that helping hand in our life. The gospel so readily allows us to pull together and help each other! I also serve as a visiting teacher, where I am assigned to specific women in my area, to visit and find ways to uplift their lives every month. I love serving in both of these areas because it gives me opportunities to look beyond myself and my own needs. We are the resources Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ use to bless the lives of those around us. I know that when I take time to serve others, I am acting as Christ personally would if He were on the earth today.
