Hi I'm Ashlyn

I'm your typical college student complete with a Netflix subscription. I say "y'all" and "ma'am" and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I started playing soccer in high school as a way to spend more time with my friends and have since fallen in love with the game. I have a bucket list too lengthy for my bank account, and when I'm not scrolling through the Travel category of Pinterest, I can be found making to-do lists or spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the restored gospel of Jesus Christ brings peace and security into to my life. When I was a freshman in high school, I used worldly measures such as the number of friends I had or my success in sports to determine my self worth. As I evaluated myself using such measures and compared my personal evaluations with others, I often found that I, in my shortcomings, did not measure up. As a member of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints, I learned for myself of the love my Father in Heaven has for me and the divine purpose of my existence. Jesus Christ proved to me the infinite and unconditional love he and the Father have for me when he sacrificed his own life for my sins. In giving up his life, he showed my mine was worth saving, worth living to the fullest. His gospel motivates me to do and be better. I am a Mormon because I want to please my Father in Heaven. I am a Mormon because I want to thank my Savior by following after his example.

How I live my faith

I have helped organize youth activities and faith-building camps for my peers.Teaching responsibilities within my church have allowed me to make worshiping my Father in Heaven and drawing nearer to my Savior Jesus Christ more than a once-a-week event. As I prepare for assigned lessons throughout the week, I have the opportunity to test my faith daily

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

One of my favorite doctrines is the nature of God. As well as being perfect, wise, and all-powerful, my Father in Heaven is in many ways similar to my earthly father. He loves me personally and knows me, even better than my biological father. He wants the best for me. Although He isn't as accessible as my earthly father, my Father in Heaven is always there for me and I can develop a personal relationship with Him through prayer. Show more Show less
