Hi I'm Maritza Espiritu

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I am 22 years old and currently serving a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I joined the church about two years ago and it has been the BEST decision I have made. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and I have come to know Him better. I am full of life! I love to get to know people and make new friends. As for hobbies, I like to play soccer, go hiking, and run. I am going to school to study communications.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Catholic home, with loving parents that taught me and my siblings about the love of God. As I grew older, attending church was out of the picture, my faith was gone, I really had no direction in life. I felt this emptiness in my heart and nothing I did seemed to help me feel whole again. That all changed 2011. My best friend in high school sent me a copy of the Book of Mormon, while he was serving his mission in Texas. Next day after receiving the Book of Mormon, I got a knock on my door from two missionaries who looked like angels, with the biggest smiles on their faces. They asked me if I was interested in getting to know more about Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, and the LDS church, course I said yes and began taking lessons. Less than two months later, I was baptized, the same way my Savior, Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist. I can still remember feeling new and clean after my baptism. I was able to leave my sins behind and start a new chapter in my life, with God. My family is supportive of me decision to follow Jesus Christ, they have seen the change in my life and how it has helped me stay focused on enduring to the end. I love being a missionary and sharing God's plan of happiness to others that are seeking to find the truth. I can testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is the true church on earth.

How I live my faith

About two months after I got baptized, I was called to teach the primary children in my ward. It was one of the most humbling and amazing experiences. Just like the children were learning about Jesus Christ and His gospel, so was I. Together, we helped one another grow our testimonies and become better sons and daughters of God.
