Hi I'm Megan

I am a teacher. I'm a daughter, a sister, an aunt. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I stay busy teaching 6th graders. I enjoy seeing them have a love for learning. I always love discovering answers to questions. When I was a kid, I wanted to know, "Why is the sky blue?", "Why does it feel so muggy after it rains?", and "Can I really cook an egg on a the sidewalk?" These questions all have scientific answers. I'm now able to answer these questions and more for my inquiring students. Other questions I had as a child, "Is there a God?", "What happens when I die?", and "How do I pray?" could not be answered using Science. Luckily, I had the Gospel to answer these questions for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a very logical person. I know that I am happy when I attend church, read my scriptures, share my testimony, and serve. I have greater strength to get through the hard times in my life. Growing up in IL, I had the chance to learn about Joseph Smith in our school history books. Those taught me that he was a nice man who started a church and the members lived in Nauvoo, IL for a time. Visiting Nauvoo, however, I learned and realized that Joseph Smith truly was a modern-day prophet that restored Christ's church upon the Earth. I felt the Spirit every time I visited Nauvoo and learned of the early saints. I gained my testimony in pieces. When I sang, "I am a Child of God", I felt the confirmation that I was a child of God. When I was baptized, I was happy and knew that I had made the right decision. When I was upset in high school about circumstances that were out of my control, I felt the love of my Heavenly Father and my Savior. When I sinned and turned to my Father in prayer to ask for forgiveness, I felt the true power of the atonement. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I know that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of His children. I know that our Savior, Jesus Christ, atoned for us all. I know that as I serve and share my Heavenly Father's love, I feel a greater abundance in my own life.

How I live my faith

I am currently in a single's ward with single adults around my age. I have had the opportunity to serve in many different ways. I have the opportunity to visit sisters in the ward and help them feel welcome and loved. I also am the secretary for the women's organization in our church. I help organize meetings and learn every person's name. That helps me to recognize and welcome visitors. I feel very blessed to be among so many amazing women and meet more each Sunday.
