Hi I'm Jessica

I teach first grade. I crochet afghans for homeless shelters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy teaching first grade, reading, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with my family. I am excited that I will soon be an aunt.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I was born and raised as a mormon, I was taught from a young age about my Savior. I was aware of His atonement and how to communicate with him, but it has not been until recently that I have gained a greater understanding of what that all means. Several years ago my mother passed away, a few years after that I struggled with some of the same health concerns that had taken my mother's life. Even though I would love to be married, and have children of my own, that is a blessing that has not come to me yet. Instead, I continue to watch younger siblings, cousins, and friends get married and have children. But through it all, I have come to learn that my Heavenly Father, and Savior, Jesus Christ, are aware of me; that they have a plan for my life, and that their plan is greater than the one I had for myself. I know that even when I don't understand why things are happening, that my Heavenly Father understands, and that everything is happening to make me stronger, and better. When I look back over the last ten years or so of my life, I am amazed at how much my Heavenly Father has been involved, and at how much I have grown. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the message that it proclaims, have helped me get through all of the hard times in my life, and have helped me get through them with a general feeling of peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me. I visit several women in the ward every month. We share the gospel with one another and assist each other with hard things in our lives.
