Hi I'm Renato Alexander Villanueva

I'm Peruvian. I love to travel, snowboard, listen to music and spend time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a missionary in the Texas San Antonio Mission. At home i'm a full-time student and my major is finance. When winter is around I try to spend all my time snowboarding. There are few things that can compare to being at the top of a peak and looking below at the clouds, or just have the wind blow in your face as you race down a mountain. I also love to play basketball and play it all the time with my 2 older brothers whom i love and look up to a lot. They have been a huge influence in my life and have helped me to become who I am today. Same with my parents who are heroes in my eyes. My family means the world to me! I love just hanging out in the back yard, grilling, talking and having a good time. I have a love for motorcycles and Sports Center. I love Utah, and now after having endured 110 degree weather in the most humid of places i have decided there is no place like Utah. I love music and i play the piano and guitar. I love any type of music that puts you in a good mood.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of the peace and happiness that comes from living in harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ. To know that my family can be together forever is one of the greatest blessings in my life. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He loves us and this church contains the fullness of His Gospel. A happiness has come into my life that is indescribable. Many people might say," well i'm sure you can feel that anywhere." But honestly, nothing I have ever done, not even snowboarding which i love, has brought me the happiness that I have found through the Gospel. It makes me want to love others, and most importantly love and forgive myself. I love waking up and taking a breath and feeling like I am exactly where i need to be. And I had never felt that till I started to believe in God and this Gospel. It hasn't always been easy, but that's why i appreciate my faith so much because it truly has been my choice.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live a life that God would want me to live. Right now i'm living it by being a missionary in Texas and sharing with others what my faith means to me, and how it has helped me. . My faith inspires me to live it and try my best to be an all around good person.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Renato Alexander Villanueva
The reason that we go by "mormons" is because of the Book of Mormon. Which is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is another witness that Jesus is The Christ and that through him we can find the happiness we are looking for. We believe in the Bible, but we believe that God continues to speak to us. The Book of Mormon is the evidence of this. Show more Show less
