Hi I'm Kristin

I'm a wife, a mother, and a dental hygienist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with 3 wonderful children. My son is currently serving a mission in the Arizona Mesa mission. I am a dental hygienist, but first and most importantly a wife and mother. I love to cook, read, travel, and spend time with my family and friends. North Carolina is a beautiful state with gorgeous beaches and mountains. My favorite thing to do is go to the beach with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but as I got older, I had to learn for myself if it was true and if I was going to live by its teachings. I gained a testimony on my own that the church is true, that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and that we have a prophet that leads and guides us today. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet who restored the church in these latter days. My family life growing up was not always happy and I had many difficult years with an alcoholic step father. My membership in the church is what saved me and kept me happy. I had a firm belief that I had a loving Heavenly Father and Savior who looked out for me and helped me during that time. I had great leaders and members of the church who were like family and cared about my membership in the church and my well-being. I am a Mormon because I know the church is true and I know that I will find peace and happiness by keeping His commandments.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a leader over hundreds of youth. It is a very busy, but rewarding calling. I love to be a part of the kid's lives as they strive to live the commandments and make righteous choices. Our main goal as leaders is to see our youth grow up to serve missions and to one day enter the temple. I try to look for ways to serve others in the area with meals when someone is sick or taking a treat to someone just to let them know I care. I frequently go to the temple with my husband and I enjoy making dinner for the missionaries in our area. I try to read the Book of Mormon everyday and live my life in a way that is pleasing to my Heavenly Father and Savior. The church has richly blessed my life and helped me to be happy.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost can be a constant companion to those of us who get baptized and confirmed as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We must keep the commandments to have this gift always. I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost many times in my life. I find it to be especially helpful when raising three children. Many times I have needed answers to help my children with difficult decisions or to know how to discipline them or to know when they are going in the wrong direction. I receive promptings and feelings to show me the way to bring them back on the right path. I also have felt the Holy Ghost confirm to me the truthfulness of the gospel, the Book of Mormon, and the words of the prophet. Show more Show less
