Hi I'm Megan Anne Cooley

I'm a songwriter, a return missionary, CrossFit Fanatic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I am Megan Anne Cooley, and I Love life! Recently I have come to the wonderful understanding and appreciation that life is what we make of it. Our attitudes and our beliefs about ourselves and our situations determine who we are and how we feel. I love running and teaching, but what really makes me feel grounded and complete is music. I love music and writing music. I have taken piano on and off since I was 10, and have taken voice lessons for the past 8 years. I love to sing classical arias or opera's, broadway or pop, but more recently I have really started loving to write and sing faith based music. It is a truth that Heavenly Father answers prayers in a variety of ways, and one of the most influential, I believe, is music. It is amazing the spirit and power that can come through lyrics set to the right rise and swell of a melody. How a heart that had been closed off to the testimony in word, was opened or softened by the song. I know that this is what I am supposed to be doing. I want and need to use the gift I have been given to bring souls to Christ. I have recorded my first CD, and have started doing firesides for Young Women groups in Utah about the importance of individual worth, and loving and accepting yourself.

Why I am a Mormon

Each day I wake up and I look myself in the mirror and I choose right then to be happy and to make it a good day! I repeat to myself, "Heavenly Father loves and accepts me, I love and accept myself." I didn't always believe that sentence to be true. There was a time in my life when I didn't believe that God loved me, and I was constantly searching for any possible way to escape my problems. This was a time when I isolated myself from friends and withdrew from family. I spiraled headfirst and hopelessly into an eating disorder, which consumed my life. I felt alone and unworthy of love. By several miracles, people came into my life that gave me a start in the right direction. To make a very long story short, I realized that the only way to healing and happiness is through our Heavenly Father and the Atonement of his beloved son, our brother, Jesus Christ. I began to center my life on Him and His teachings, and eventually gained a strong testimony and personal witness of the truthfulness of this gospel. I absolutely know this to be true. Without this knowledge; God's great plan for all of His children, life would be a meaningless endeavor. I love everything about the gospel, but I especially love knowing that I am a daughter of God, the most powerful, intelligent, and loving being in the universe. Through that knowledge I was able to recover and learn to love myself and others as He does. I know that he hears my prayers and that he is guiding my life.

How I live my faith

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I live my faith one day at a time, each day. Because of the knowledge that I have of God, His plan, the atonement, and my potential as a daughter of God, I choose every day to represent my Savior. When we take the sacrament, we promise to take upon ourselves the name of the Savior Jesus Christ; to represent him, and emulate his life and teachings.
