Hi I'm Harmony!

I grew up in Las Vegas and Yes! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

About me, about me, what can I say about me that you will care to hear? My name is Harmony and yes I sing. I love to sing! I grew up in Las Vegas and have never touched a slot machine. Imagine that! My parents always called me Pollyanna and my little sister Punky Brewster. Now you pretty well know me. Oh ya, I forgot the part about surviving high school, launching myself across the country to a small but beautiful college in South Carolina, getting married, finishing my bachelors in vocal performance and living here ever since. Much to my poor mother's dismay. Sorry about that mom. My husband resembles Tim the Tool Man, except that he is a nurse, which means he likes to help people as well as attempting home repairs. My daughter reminds everyone of Shirley Temple, minus the curly hair and my son is a small and adorable version of Dennis the Menace. I am a stay at home mom. Most days I like my job, some days I don't. Some days I make play dough sculptures, play in the sand and do puzzles. Those are good days. Some days the play dough, sand and puzzle pieces get all mixed up together and everyone needs a bath, dinner and bed all at once. I don’t really like those days, but what can I say, this is my life and I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has brought more happiness into my personal and family life than anything else that I have EVER encountered and I grew in Vegas baby. I am all about happiness. In my opinion, life needs all the true happiness that a person can stuff into it. I love the fact that even though people aren't perfect and don't need to be, the message of the gospel is. There is a God. He is our Father. He loves us and He wants all of us to come home. The Gospel of Jesus Christ tells us exactly how to do that. The "good news" is that because of our Savior, Jesus Christ, everyone that has ever lived will have that chance, the chance to go home. Why am I a Mormon? I am a Mormon because it fills me with peace for the past, comfort in the present and hope for the future. And it makes me happy!

How I live my faith

Today I had a play date with a friend and her beautiful kids who are not members of my faith. She said that when she first met me, she could tell that there was something different about me and the difference was God. The truth is that I was drawn to her for the same reason. I could list a hundred ways that I live my faith but I have come to realize that LOVE is the core of all that truly matters. It makes all the difference in the world. I saw it in my friend and she saw it in me. Life is a lot like laundry, there will always be more to do but love is what sustains us along the journey and creates joy in the daily living. Jesus Christ said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Being a Mormon gives me the opportunity to create a life filled with evidence of my love and devotion to Him.
