Hi I'm Sheree.

I'm deaf. I have 4 children, one of which is also deaf with some sensory issues. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a busy stay at home mother. I'm interested in eating real foods and nourishing our bodies with wholesome foods and treating illnesses without meds whenever possible. I'm currently learning about FASD that I finally figured out my son likely has, so I read about those things when I have a few minutes to spare.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an inactive family, going to church every once in a while with a friend. Because I was deaf, it was hard to understand what was being said and to learn the gospel principles. Eventually I stopped going because I was mad at God for my deafness and how hard it was to understand everything that was said. One year, one of my grandpas passed away. I started questioning what happens after death. A boyfriend shared the plan of salvation with me and I asked how he knew that. He said "From church", I started going to church & seminary (a church class in school) with him. I began to learn more gospel principles with the help of a sign language interpreter. One day the Holy Ghost testified to me that the gospel was true. The spirit was so strong that I couldn't deny it. Knowing that being deaf is part of my trial on earth has made it easier to live with it. I know that someday I will return to Heavenly Father with ears that hear if I keep his commandments. And I know that I will be able to see my dear grandpa again.

How I live my faith

I am the secretary in our ward Primary Presidency. Primary teaches children 18 months-11 years old about Heavenly Father and Jesus. I am also a visiting teacher and I love how that helps me to get to know the sisters that I visit each month and build a friendship with them. I love to serve others. I have seen & felt the difference it makes to have the gospel in my life. I hope you will open your heart & mind to the gospel so that you can feel the joy that I feel in knowing that my Heavenly Father loves us and is very aware of each of us and our needs..
