Hi I'm Kirk

I'm a husband and a father. I love politics. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love all things political. I love following elections and what is going on in our country and around the world. I think it is so important to elect people to office who are good, upstanding, moral people regardless of their political party. I love reading the news and learning about current events. It would be safe to say that I am a news and political nerd. When I'm not devouring the daily news I love spending time with my wife and my son. Nothing makes me happier. I am married to a wonderful woman who treats every day as if it is to be celebrated. We have one son and he is the cutest little guy in the world. Being husband and a father is the most important thing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ's true church. I know this because I've lived in accordance with its teachings and it has brought me joy and happiness. As I've studied the doctrines of the Church and Christ's gospel and implemented them in my life it has brought me peace. I know that God has called prophets to guide Christ's church in our day just as He did anciently. As I've listen to the modern prophets speak I've felt the confirmation in my heart that what they are saying is true and that it is the word of God. I've also come to know that this is the true church by reading the words of the ancient American prophets that are recorded in The Book of Mormon. Whenever I read The Book of Mormon I feel peace come in to my heart and mind and I know that feeling is the Holy Spirit confirming to me that what I am reading is the word of God.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in the way that I act on a day-to-day basis. I think the small, simple things that you do every day are the most important. Am I treating others the way that Christ would? Do I think, do, and say the things that Christ would if He were in my position? Do I treat my wife and my son with love and respect? Am I giving service to others the way that Christ did? Although I am far from perfect and continually make mistakes, by striving to live like the Savior did in the small and simple things on a day-to-day basis it has made me a better person, a better husband, and a better father.
