Hi I'm Madeline

I love Seattle. I love adventures. I love people's quirks. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in New Jersey, Tennessee, California, Washington, Louisiana, and now Ribeirao Preto, Brazil! I love having close friends and family spread all over the country. I love hiking, reading, camping, volleyball, sweaters, thrifting, quirky people, art, and music. I just finished my junior year of college and I am majoring in Communication Disorders, with the plan of continuing on to Speech Therapy. I have 3 younger siblings and my family is everything to me!

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a mormon.... well! My parents are huge examples to me of people who live their faith. They taught me the things that I needed to know to make decisions for myself. Being an active Latter-day Saint requires too much effort if your only reason for being one is that your parents brought you up in it. The original reason I trusted in the church was because everything made sense. I felt like there were too many answers, and everything fit too well together to not have truth to it. As I grew up, I had many small spiritual experiences and a few big ones that really pushed me to come to a conclusion about the truthfulness of the church on my own. As these experiences shaped me, I arrived at where I am today. Everyday I have so much more to learn, but I am grateful for the help I have from my Savior Jesus Christ through His atoning sacrifice to make those changes in my life.

How I live my faith

Currently I am VERY much living my faith 24/7 as I am serving a mission! I have always tried my hardest to represent Jesus Christ in all my actions, but now I get to wear a missionary name tag that has my name right next to my Savior's as well as the name of His church, and it is such a privilege. Even though I try to emulate the Savior's actions, I always come up short of his perfect example. I am so grateful that all of those things that I do that aren't perfect, can be made right through the atonement of Jesus Christ. That if I trust in him, and do all that I can to follow His example, those times that I fall short can be made right.
