Hi I'm Kayla

I'm a wife, a daughter, a sister, a student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm currently a junior at Brigham Young University, majoring in Communication Disorders. I am a newly-wed to the man of my dreams. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple last year. I love cooking, running, and playing games.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born and raised in the church some may think that I am only a member of this religion because it is what I have been taught since I was young. Although, that probably has had a great impact on me, that is not why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that this is the true church upon the Earth today, and I have come to know it on my own. A huge point in my life when I truly came to know of the truthfulness of this gospel on my own was my sophomore year in high school. I was sixteen years old when my parents decided to get a divorce. It was very unexpected and I did not know what to think of it and how to react. Being the oldest of four children in my family, I felt an incredible weight on my shoulders to be strong for them and also to be strong for my mom. Holding back tears and telling everyone that I was fine, no matter what the true answer was, became my specialty. I found that kneeling down and praying to my Father in Heaven was one of my biggest escapes. In this time of need I grew so close to my Savior as I knew that he was carrying me through my hard times. The weight on my shoulders was lifted and I know without a doubt in my mind, that the Savior was buoying me and making me the strong daughter of God that he knew I could be. I know that the Savior knows me, He knows my pains, He knows what I need in my life, He knows my name. He knows your name as well. I know that I am never alone, especially in my time of need. I know that trials are put into our lives for a reason, and as we turn to the Savior for guidance we will be blessed and strengthened beyond measure. I know that our prayers are heard and answered. I know that there is a plan for each and everyone of us. This is the true church. I am so grateful to have it in my life and I know that I would not be the person that I am today without it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith simply by keeping a positive attitude. Because I know that everything happens for a reason, there is no need to worry. As long as I am following the teachings of this church, I know that I will be blessed. My Heavenly Father is looking out for me and He loves me. Life is good!
