Hi I'm Diana Leaney Cortés López

I am a Latina living in Japan. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I know where I have been. I know who I am. II know wwhere I am boina. I know my divinity and my abilities as a Daughter of God. I am a Mormon. I am currently living in Tokyo, Japan and I love every minute of trains and sushi. I am giving all of my heart, might, mind, and strength to inviting my brothers and sisters here in Japan to change their lives and choose to follow their Savior. My name is Diana Leaney López Ruano. I'm half Mexican and half Guatemalan, born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm the second of 8 siblings and love all types of Latin Dancing. I speak Spanish, English, Mandarin Chinese and am now learning Japanese as I teach others about The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. As I have traveled around the world, especially my time in the Hunan Province of China, I have come to see the goodness in each one of God's children. I have learned how to love and as I serve my brothers and sisters every day, that love grows. I am a firm believer that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is here on earth to bring happiness. I am so thankful, I am so happy. I am the farthest thing from perfect. Yet as I live day to day striving to be better, I know that little by little I can move forward. Oh how loving is our God!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me peace and joy. Through the teachings of The Book of Mormon and The Bible, I have learned the path to eternal happiness and joy. I am a Mormon because nothing else has or will give me equal joy as does following my Heavenly Father. I've traveled the world. I've lived among a high population of Mormons in Utah and I've been alone in my beliefs in China. I know why I'm a Mormon simply because it brings me joy. I have a light in my that is the love of my Father in Heaven and there is no way I can deny Him. I am a Mormon because I know that through Jesus Christ's restored gospel, I can return to my Heavenly Father. I testify that His way is the only way. I testify that through reading the Book of Mormon and through prayer, I have received a confirmation of the truthfulness of this gospel. I testify that it makes me happy. Heavenly Father's plan is one of eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I am giving everything to My Father in Heaven. I am giving Him my time and all of who I am. As I wake up every day I work on myself a little more. Read the word of God, pray, try to help people. I am trying to be more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I will forever keep trying to be more patient, more kind, more peaceful, more loving. I live my faith day by day. Begging for forgiveness and trying again, and then again. Every day is a blessing. Every day I am more converted and more happy! I strive to keep my promises to God so that I can share His love with each of God's Children I get to meet.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Diana Leaney Cortés López
The Atonement of Jesus Christ was more than the blood spilt or the agony wrought upon Jesus Christ, the atonement was the pure love of a Heavenly Father giving His pure sacrifice so that we could all have the opportunity to return to Live with God once more. It was necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life because justice exists as well as mercy. Through Jesus Christ's sacrifice we are able to recieve the mercy of God because justice had to be paid. The very thought of His pain fills my heart with regret for my sins, yet I am grateful, forever grateful to my Savior Jesus Christ because He has healed me from my own darkness and through mercy I have once again found light.
