Hi I'm Dave

I'm a medical student and a Latter-day Saint.

About Me

I have a wife who stays at home with my 2 year old son. I am honored to be an officer in the United States Navy. I need three things in life... the Gospel of Jesus Christ, my family, and golf. I play most sports and guitar. Hope to do Emergency Medicine for a career.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but didn't make the personal decision to believe in the Mormon church until I was in high school. I have never regretted it. One of my most spiritual experiences was when I was a freshmen in college. A professor challenged me to read The Book of Mormon in 30 days (17 pages/day) and I did. By reading that book and noticing my feelings as I read it, I gained a solid testimony that The Book of Mormon was written by prophets, inspired by God, and written for our day.

How I live my faith

I am responsible for taking care of the financial matters in my specific congregation. It's been a wonderful experience to see firsthand how generous people are and how the Lord handles his funds. My wife and I recently decided we needed to hold what the Prophet has encouraged us to do... something called "Family Home Evening". Monday is the recommended night, but because of my schedule, we do it Sunday and my son absolutely loves it. Basically, we say a prayer, go over the weeks activities, and then mom plays children songs on the piano while my son and I sing along and chase each other. It has brought us closer together as a family because it has brought us closer to God.
