Hi I'm Jack

I've worked in IT and training for 38 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in New Mexico and Arizona, but after college spent 33 years on the east coast of the U.S., first in Florida, then in Connecticut. My time was divided between being a husband and father of six kids, service in the church and working. I've always liked math and graduated from college with a degree in Math Education, then 26 years later got a Master's degree in Computing Technology in Education.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was about 8. Both of my parents had grown up in good religious homes with all of my dad's side of the family being members of the Baptist church. My dad really knew the bible and enjoyed discussing religion. I can remember sitting up as late as I could to hear the discussions my parents had with the missionaries while my dad argued against them. Then the next night we'd go to our friends who were good Baptists and my dad would argue with them, bringing up all the points he had learned from the Mormons the night before. It was a good education on the Bible for me. I loved the doctrine of the church and tried to follow its teachings, but my own strong, personal testimony of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the doctrines of the Mormon church came when I served a 2 year mission in the New England States mission. I came to know the Savior and the sweet feelings of testimony as I spent full time in His service.

How I live my faith

My testimony first of all is of God, and his son, Jesus Christ and his divine mission here on the earth. I have learned that when you are serving other people you are serving God and attempt to follow him in my relationships with my family, neighbors, co-workers and church members. Like all humans I sometimes fail, but I have also felt his assurances and peaceful spirit as I attempt to follow him.
