Hi I'm Kristi.

I love my family. I love to create. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up, I lived in 6 different states, ranging from Utah, Idaho, Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana, and Oklahoma. I have 4 older brothers and 1 younger brother. Growing up, my best friends were my family. Today, they still are. Some of my favorite things to do with my family is playing soccer, tennis, hiking, traveling, and finding adventures. Something else we do as a family is playing games! Scrabble Apple, Dilbert Shuffle, Bang, Settlers of Catan, and those are just a few of our favorites. When I'm not spending time with my family, I can be found in one of four activities. The first is taking pictures of the great outside: flowers, sunsets, sunrises, trees. It is all just so beautiful! I just love the great outside! I love capturing it all on camera. Another of my favorite activities is reading! I love fiction and church books. I love the written word. Which leads to another of my favorite activities, writing! I guess you can call me an aspiring author. My favorite type of writing is creative non-fiction: adventures from my life. It's a fun way to remember the past. The last activity I love to do is playing music! I love sitting down on the piano bench and letting my fingers take over. My favorite type of music to listen to is me playing it. I may not be the best musician, but I sure love playing it. I also play the flute and love being part of musical groups. Really, overall, I just love being able to create.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I am a Mormon is because I have seen the gospel of Jesus Christ bless my life. This is Jesus Christ's true church. It is led by Him, through revelation to His prophet. Through the teachings of Jesus Christ, I have seen true happiness enter into my life. When I follow Christ's teachings, when I strive to be like Him, I know I am choosing happiness over misery. When I choose not to follow Christ, that is when I am the most sad, the most miserable. When I choose to follow Christ, I am happy and at peace with my life. This church has so much to offer. It has the fullness of Christ's church, just like He established when He lived on the earth. We have apostles and prophets. We have the priesthood. And miracles are still happening today, just as they did in Christ's day. There are so many blessings associated with God's Church. I know it is true. And I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting on what I believe. I know that Jesus Christ was the best example to all man-kind. He was loving and He served all He met. If I love and serve others, it shows that I am Christian, a believer and follower of Christ. It shows that I am living my faith. I know that if I look ways to serve others that I will feel the peace and blessings that come from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also live my faith by praying to God. As I pray continually, day in and day out and continue praying by always having a prayer in my heart, that I will feel God's hand in my life and that I can be His instrument to others. I live my faith by acting on what I believe.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Kristi.
I know that there is a purpose to this life. Just the other evening I was sitting in my desk chair eating an orange. I was thinking about the upcoming changes in my life. Scary and nerve-wracking, but then the thought came to me. There's more to our lives then just the constant changes and moves in this life. There is a bigger, greater purpose. President David O. McKay once said, "The purpose of life is to make bad men good and good men better." I firmly believe in that statement. Even though there is so much chaos and confusion going on around us, there is a chance to come to know God and His purpose for us on the earth life. For me, I have come to know that our purpose here is to become a little better. We have this life as an opportunity to stretch ourselves and to obtain more Christ-like attributes. We can learn to have more patience, love, peace, knowledge, humility, meekness, diligence, faith, hope, charity, virtue, and obedience. I know that these qualities, these attributes are essential to us having true happiness in this life, for I have felt it. I know that as we obtain them one by one, we are coming closer to God - closer to His purpose for placing us down here, for I have felt it. I know that God loves us. I know that He has sent us down her to become better people. Show more Show less
