Hi I'm Mitch

I like football and rugby, I'm another missionary from Utah, D-Walk and Hoyner are my boys, WASPO mission rocks, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I've lived in many different places in Utah but Alpine is where I lived for the majority of my life. My favorite sports are football, rugby and baseball. I played highschool football and for the United Rugby Club in Utah. I love to off-road and go shooting with my family and friends. I love to fish off the Snake River, especially when we are at my cabin in Southern Idaho. If I haven't broken anything before winter I'll go up to the resort and go snowboarding with my friends and family. I love to bowl and just hangout. I listen to all sorts of music, I don't care if it's heavy metal, alternative rock, country, Dubstep, rap or hip hop, I'll listen to it all. I'm a huge Batman fan and don't really care about Superman. I guess you can say I'm a bottomless pit once it comes to eating. Love to chill with Hoyner, D-Walk and Jeppesen on P-day. I'm a huge Ute fan. I want to go to the University of Utah and go into the medical field. I want to eventually own my own medical practice in whatever I go into. I'm the oldest of 4 boys and I'm the first one in my immediate family to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because just like everyone else who is a member of the church, I had to find out for myself if it was true and if it was the right path I should take. When I was younger I wasn't living my life like how I should. One year in seminary, in church, and in church classes the same scriptures kept showing up. They kept sticking out to me and I knew it was God trying to tell me something. I guess you can say I "tested" God and would randomly open my scriptures or knock them off my desk to see which scriptures would pop up. It was those same scriptures that kept popping up (Alma5:14-16). Right then and there I knew that God was trying to tell me something. I started to read and turn my life around which eventually led to me gaining a testimony for myself. I prayed to my Father in Heaven and asked if this church was the true church. The feelings I got were feelings of peace and joy, I felt loved. I know that this chruch is Christ's church. I know that Jesus Christ atoned and died for each and every one of us. Because of him we are all able to be forgiven. I know that Joseph Smith Jr Is a Prophet of God and that he did RESTORE the SAME church that Christ established here on earth. He did see God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon, not by himself, but by the power of and help from God. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. The teachings in it are good, they are the words of Christ and they teach all men that they should do good (2Nephi33:11). I know that there are living prophets and apostles on the earth today and that they get revelation from God that helps us individually and as a family. This church means everything to me. It has changed my life completely. I owe everything to this church, to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will never deny or be ashamed of my belief in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because I KNOW that this is the true church.

How I live my faith

I'm living my faith by sacrificing 2 years of my life to finding, teaching and baptizing those who are not yet members of the church. I'm serving in the Washington Spokane Mission and I am doing all I can to help others come unto Christ and receive the same peace, love, and joy that I have received because of this Gospel. I don't only live my faith by serving a mission, but by doing my best by being an example to others before and while I'm on my mission. Serving others is the best way to serve God. I attend church and have been in leadership positions in church groups.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mitch
Mormon missionaries proselyte because they have witnessed the blessings that the fullness of the Gospel brings. We have seen and experienced the joy and happiness that it brings into our lives individually and as a family unit. Because of this we want all to receive the blessings this Gospel brings. We want others to receive the same joy and happiness we have received through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Knowing that our message brings joy and happiness, love and hope to our lives gives us that desire to share it with everyone. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Mitch
The priesthood is the power and authority to act in God's name. Just like how the priesthood existed in the primitive church, the priesthood exists in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Since there are sacred ordinances that we need to participate in while we are alive, God has allowed us to have the power and authority to act in His name. Because these ordinances are sacred, he only gives or allows people who are going to respect the priesthood, and apply His Son's Atonement in their lives to have and exercise it. We must be baptized by the priesthood authority and meet qualifications of worthiness to receive and exercise it. It's not something that places you above others, it's not a title. It's strictly used for serving and helping others. Show more Show less
