Hi I'm Brittany

I love life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old, a graduate from the Marriott School of Business, a wife, and a mother. I have an over-whelming desire to learn. Because of this desire I like to do many things: read news articles, text books, novels, and scriptures; take pictures; play the guitar, piano and flute; go hiking, camping, snow-boarding, and boating; among other things. I also have an even stronger desire to accomplish good in the world and make something of my life. I try to do little things everyday to work towards these goals, but this is definitely still in the works.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I had always felt that I was being taught how to be a good person which would ultimately help me to live a happy life; however, when I was still a little girl I felt a little betrayed that I was trying to be good, yet I was not able to see angels or the Savior like various people in the scriptures had. I wanted to KNOW that this church was true, not only good, like Joseph Smith. I am not sure how many days or weeks I sat wondering why I was not able to receive such a confirmation. I finally took the matter to Heavenly Father in prayer. I asked him why I could not see angels to know that the Church was true. I kneeled at the side of my bed crying to Him when I suddenly felt warm and peaceful. I stayed there quietly soaking in the feeling when a thought came to me, "you already know". As I have grown older and continued to live what I know to be true, I have found true peace and joy. There is purpose to my life.

How I live my faith

We are taught that living our faith means to be like Christ. Because Christ was perfect, trying to be like him is quite intimidating as I know that I am very far from perfect. But that is what I do. Everyday I try to do a little better, be a little kinder, more charitable, loving, submissive, forgiving, humble, productive, less judgmental, etc.. The organization of the Church provides additional opportunities for me to strive to be Christ-like. I am currently working with the youth in my neighborhood through service in the Church. Many are members of the Church, many are not. I have grown to love them all very deeply. I have also grown to love my Faith even more deeply.
