Hi I'm Blake.

I am an audio/visual arts enthusiast. I am beginning my life as an adult. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I find it easy to appreciate large billowy clouds and clever cinematography. I am young to many and old to some - but to me, I am Blake. I spend some of my time studying foreign language, some of it making short films with my friends, and most of it observing people. I am intrigued by the differences that separate us all, and make us who we are as individuals.

Why I am a Mormon

I know there is a very real God. It makes so much sense to me that because of His perfect love, which I feel and see each day, He provided a way back to Him. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the same organization Christ Himself organized in His earthly ministry - restored in the modern era through Joseph Smith. I have chosen to be a Mormon because God gave me my own free will, or agency, and because The Holy Spirit has testified to me of its reality as His church.

How I live my faith

An experience comes to mind when I ponder how I live what I believe: After a full morning of cooking and party-preparation with a distant relative, I looked out across the street and noticed a moving truck. However, there were very few able-bodied movers. I explained to my relative that I was going over to offer my help. My relative looked up and inquired, "Why would you do that?" I replied, after a moment, "For me, church isn't about reading what's in the scriptures, it is about living what they teach." I live my faith by trying to be more like our Savior and brother, Jesus Christ, in the actual moments that piece together days and weeks and years.
