Hi I'm Ashley Kaye Martin

I'm a daughter of God. A lifeguard. A SCUBA diver. A missionary serving in the Logan Utah mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Even though I've lived in Cartersville my whole life, I been around. My family and I go on cruises once or twice a year. I've been a competitive swimmer since I was 5 years old and joined my high school's swim team when I was in middle school. Also, I became a certified SCUBA Diver when I was 10 years old. I started lifeguarding when I was 16 for a local park and this past year, I worked for the Cartersville Country Club. Saying that I love being a lifeguard is an understatement. I love being outside more than anything. From hiking and camping to just going to the park to play some soccer or basketball. Now that I am graduated, I spend most of my time preparing for my mission and spending time with my friends and family. I only have a small group of friends because honestly, that's all you need. Family is so important to me too. My father is my hero and my mom is my best friend. Even though my brother and I are 5 years apart, we are pretty close too. I am very outgoing and sometimes out spoken. It is very easy for me to talk to people because of my bubbly personality. Some people love it and other are intimidated by it. I love music and singing. There isn't a day that goes by that I'm not singing. Also, I love playing cards.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad joined the church when he was 13 and served a mission in Portugal for two years. My mom and her parents joined the church when she was six or so. Once my dad returned from his mission, they started dating ended up marrying in the temple. Because of their marriage in the temple, I was born into the church and was raised as a mormon. It wasn't until I was 14 that I gained a testimony and that only happened because I went to a week of EFY. Also, after that week of EFY, I decided that I was meant to serve a mission. So, I am a mormon because I want to and through studying, I've learned that it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going back to the basics; reading my scriptures and praying each day, going to church and all my classes, and preparing for my mission. I live by my faith by talking about it. Everyone that knows me, knows that I'm mormon and if you don't personally know me, you can probably tell. I write in my journal as much as I can and that helps me stay positive. I also listen to music that makes me happy. Honestly, just staying positive and putting my trust in the Lord, that's how I live by my faith.
