Hi I'm Brennan

I am a musician, an athlete, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I enjoy sharing the Gospel with others. Recently, I have developed a deep love for the scriptures. Before my mission, I went to BYU. I love music, sports, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know "that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's Kingdom once again established on the earth, preporatory to the second coming of the Messiah" (Introduction of the Book of Mormon). I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemene and died on the Cross of Calvary for everyone whoever was, is, or will be. After three days, He rose again. He overcame physical death so all will be resurrected. He overcame spiritual death so all will have the opportunity to use the Atonement and be clean to enter into the presence of God. God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and restored their church once again. By the power of God, Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. This book of scripture is evidence that Joseph Smith truly was a prophet. I know this to be true because the Holy Ghost has manifested the truth of it unto me.

How I live my faith

I have decided to give two years of my life to serving the Lord by being a missionary. I am currently serving in the Knoxville Tennessee Mission. I spend all of my time studying, teaching, and preaching the words of Jesus Christ. I am extremely happy to be a missionary.

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in Jesus Christ. We must come to a knowledge that He is our personal Savior. We can develop faith in Him as we read the scriptures, pray, and keep His commandments. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is scripture. Scripture is the writings of prophets. The Bible and the Book of Mormon consist of the writings of ancient prophets. God is the author of both books of scripture. He inspired His chosen prophets to write the sacred words we cherish today. These prophets testified of Jesus Christ. They taught His Gospel and prophecied of His coming. When He came to the earth, the events of His personal ministry were recorded. After His ascension, the apostles and prophets bore witness that He truly lives. The biggest difference between the Bible and the Book of Mormon is location. The Bible takes place in the Old World; whereas, the Book of Mormon takes place in the Americas. God commanded the prophet Lehi to take his family and depart from Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon is a record of Lehi's family. This ancient recorded was eventually buried. The prophet Joseph Smith was led to the record by an angel and translated it by the power of God. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. One can come closer to the Lord Jesus Christ by reading it and applying the principles contained in it. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it, pondered its message, and asked my Heavenly Father if it is true. I received and answer through the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of life is to return to live with our Heavenly Father again. Amulek, a Book of Mormon prophet, teaches, "For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors" (Alma 34:32). We should be doing everything in our power to prepare to meet our Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints share the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all who are willing to listen. They devote 18-24 months of their lives to teaching others about Jesus Christ. Missionaries invite others to experience the joy that comes from living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints are absolutely Christians. Critics of the Church have tried to argue that Mormons are not Christians because we do not sustain the Nicene Creed. Our view of the Godhead is not based on the opinions of men, but on restored truth. We believe God is our loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is His Son. Perhaps, our faith in Jesus Christ can be explained by the Book of Mormon prophet, Nephi. He teaches, "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of thier sins" (2 Nephi 25:26).
