Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a wife, and a mother. I love art, literature, the outdoors and athletics. I'm a lefty. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of five daughters. One day our family was traveling, and we had stopped at a hotel for the night. We slowly trapsed in and up two flights of stairs. As we passed a group of people one man asked - "Five girls? Are they all yours?" My husband replied "Yes, pray for me." The man said, "It looks like your prayers have already been answered." We smiled that night as we tucked them in bed, a sweet reminder that we were so blessed and grateful for our family. As a child I liked to run, bike and swim and I still do. I am a triathlete. Sometimes daily life is slow and mundane and training for a triathlon is a good outlet for me - I can go as fast as I want to. Growing up we also had a family landscaping business so we learned to work hard and I still enjoy getting my hands dirty and doing hard work. I like to draw and paint, write, bake - breads are my favorite, crochet, read - Louisa May Alcott is my favorite author, go on walks or bike rides with my family, and do whatever my famiy is involved in at the time. In college I met a man who I fell head over heels for. A year later we married. After my husband graduated from college I returned to my studies and recieved my Bachelors degree - 10 years (and 4 children) since I began, and the first women in my family to earn a college degree.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was predominant. I lived in a tremendously supportive and loving community. I had great Christ-like examples to follow that helped shaped my decision to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. I had always been taught to find out for myself if the Church was true and after many prayers I recieved soft peaceful assurances by and by that the church of Jesus Christ was true. I am so grateful to have a knowledge of who I am, why I'm here, and what God's plan is for me. I'm grateful for the strength, hope, and love that the living Savior brings to my life.

How I live my faith

I strive daily to live my life so that I can have the companionship of the Holy Spirit. This for me is an invaluable gift and it means that I have to be clean in thought and action, and actively doing the things I believe God would want me to do. I serve in my church as a teacher for children and I also hold weekday activities for young girls to put into action the things we learn during class. I support my husband and daughters in the service and activities they're involved with.
