Hi I'm Sherie'

I'm an ESL teacher. I'm a disciple of Jesus Christ. I'm a MORMON.

About Me

HI! I'm Sherie! California Native. Daughter of two of the kindest most service-oriented parents I know. Sister to three of the greatest friends out there! Extensive reader. Big laugher. Health nut. Lives to make a difference in others lives. Adventurer to the max. Travel addict. LOVES making people smile and laugh. Loves this life I've been given. ESL teacher. Disciple of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised by parents who had a relationship with God and taught me the Gospel (teachings) of Jesus Christ. My parents always did their best to answer my questions but reminded me that they did not know everything and the most important relationship I can have in this life is one with God. Through prayer and scripture study I have built a very personal relationship with him and have come to know through the Holy Ghost the importance of Christ in my life and how to come closer to him. As I live by Christ teachings I have found more joy in my life than through any other means. There are many churches that teach about Christ and his Gospel and I am so grateful for the examples of faith and testimonies of Christ my fellow brother and sisters in Christ around the world share. I'm a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not just another church that teaches about my Savior, it is HIS Church and is lead by Christ himself. The Book of Mormon contains the fulness of Christs teachings and I have come to know this through praying about and reading the Book of Mormon. As I actively go to the Mormon church I feel Christs spirit more abundantly in my life. I have never felt closer to God before and I invite all of my brothers and sisters in Christ to ask God if this really is his church. As I strive to come closer to my Savior it has been the greatest blessing to have not only have the Bible but also the Book or Mormon and modern day revelations from Gods Prophets and apostles on the earth today as additional testaments of the life, ministry and divinity of Christ.

How I live my faith

I know Christs teachings are a divinely inspired pattern of living. I live my faith by doing my best to live the way he has taught. I talk with Father in Heaven daily through prayer. I study the scriptures so I can come to know my Savior better and to find answers to questions that come up in my daily life. I attend church every week. I love going to church, the purpose of church is to help its members come closer to Christ. I dedicate my Sundays to worshiping God and I try to just focus on him that day. I partake of the sacrament weekly at church to renew the covenants I made with God at my Baptism. I love serving others, its in those moments of serving others that I feel the closest to God. When I'm struggling, when I have questions or concerns I turn to my Father in Heaven and I turn to Christs teachings to see how it can answer my questions. No matter what I've gone through in this life Christ has always been there for me and I know he always will. By living the Gospel of Jesus Christ I've come to know my Savior better and I know it is the happiest way to live.
