Hi I'm Emilee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Hermana Estrada. I am currently serving and LDS mission. We were told to make a profile on mormon.org so here I am. I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been called to serve in the Chicago, Illinois Spanish speaking mission and I can´t wait to share with others what I know to be true.

Why I am a Mormon

Since my parents are both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I was born into this church. However, that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I love this gospel, its principles, and teachings. I love the guidance, comfort and support I recieve every day from the church and how it has helped mold me into the person I am today. The biggest reason I have decided to serve a mission is to share a message of hope with those who I have an opportunity to talk to. After my parents divorce, my life was turned into a whirlwind of emotions. There would be days that I felt like there wasn't even a point to living. My family had fallen apart, we no longer had comfort in knowing what the next day would bring, and I seemed to be just going through the motions of life without really living. I felt that God did not love me, that he did not have a plan for me, and that there was no point in me being here on this earth. It was then that I found strength in this Gospel. Even in my darkest hours, I found strength and comfort through the principles and teachings of this church. President Uctdorf has said "No matter how dark the chapter of our lives may seem today, we may hope and be assured that the ending of the book of our lives will exceed our grandest expectations... For the love of God softens all sorrows, pierces all darkeness and gladdens every heart."

How I live my faith

I choose to live my faith through others. I want to be an example to those around me and help them to see how happy this gospel makes me and the joy that it can bring to others.
