Hi I'm Robyn

I'm a Mormon. But was not raised a Mormon. I grew up in California, As an adult and lived all over the United States.

About Me

I am a mother and grandmother I raise my grandson so i'm doing the mother thing all over again. I didn't raise my children in the church but I'm glad that I get to with my grandson. I like to do scrap booking, I am putting a book together of me. It as pictures of my family growing up and as an adult. I also get to write in it and tell about the pictures so I get to remember and show it to my grandson. I really enjoy reading my scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I have been a member for a long time and like many people going to church was not easy for me. but I read my scriptures and prayed but getting up to go to church seemed so hard. until one day I realized I wanted my grandson raised in the church. So I started going every morning and taking my grandson. He as come along way and I have to admit I have too. We moved and started attending a new building. It's smaller then where we were before. But we made friends very fast and now my grandson is helping with scripture reading and family home evening meetings. These are just some of the reason I am a Mormon. I have a strong testimony, I love this gospel because I believe Joseph Smith actual spoke with Jesus while in the grove that day. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I was sick with ovarian cancer and also breast cancer and I remember getting a blessing from some priesthood holders. They came to my house and gave me a blessing. They prayed to the god through Jesus Christ to help me and cure me if it was his will and to comfort me through the tough times ahead and I felt so warm and at peace at that very moment that I knew that this was his true church if I didn't know it before I did at that moment. I knew that we had a living prophet and he was able to speak straight to the lord. I have had a very strong testimony ever since cause I had my tumors that were very large removed from my left breast and my ovaries and have been cancer free for 11 years now.

How I live my faith

Because I love reading my scriptures and the commandments that the Lord has told us.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Robyn
My answer to this is one: The lord has commanded everyone to donate 10% not just Mormons. it says to in the bible. the Lord will bless you more then you'll ever know. You just need to do has he has asked. I use to say the I need that money to pay my bills. but if you do what you were asked to do,Eventually the blessings that the Lord gives will make up for that money more so. I have realized that it is easier to do what the Lord has asked Cause If I don't I always have more problems. If I don't pay one month and say I go and buy me something new with the money. the blessing I get are not as much. see it's like I won't have enough gas that month or I may start to feel just a little slower one day then normal. The blessings come in many ways. Show more Show less
