Hi I'm Kit

I'm a wife, a mother of 5 angels--6 and under, a Texan who spent 8 yrs in France and finally settled in Utah, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of 5. Neither of these things came without going through serious trials. On the way to our reception on our wedding day, my husband's 15 year old brother was killed in a car accident. Both of us were in college at the time--myself at BYU and my husband at the University of Utah, where he was a member of the basketball team. We had both served missions in France and loved that country and people so much. When the opportunity came to play basketball professionally there, we jumped at the chance! While in France, we hoped to start our family. I am the second of 9 children, and we both adore children, so we thought it would just happen. But we soon found ourselves seeking help from fertility clinics in the US and France. After praying and waiting 8 years and trying every scientific option, our 5 miracle babies came in 6 years. We are now living in Utah and loving every minute! Life is crazy, busy, stressful, joyful, and hilarious. All of it is possible only because of the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Without faith in the principles of the gospel to anchor and guide us, we could not have kept going through the pain of loss and the pain of waiting for the family we wanted so much. How thankful I am to be a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Texas where most of my friends had lots of questions about the Mormon faith. From very early on, I was searching the scriptures for answers to the things they would ask about. That study and searching and fervent prayer led me to my own answers and conviction that the things I had been taught were true. I was raised by a mother and father who loved God and tried to follow Him and serve Him every single day. I felt their love for Him through every word and every deed. I saw how our prayers as a family were answered. I saw how we were strengthened individually and as a family by keeping God's commandments. I knew that was the way I wanted to live my life and raise my own children. Now, as a wife and mother, I see how very much I need God's help every moment of every day and I am even more grateful for the principles I continue to learn in the church.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is part of every minute of every day in our home. We read the scriptures and pray together every morning and night. We talk about what we learn and try to apply it to the situations we face at home, at school and at work. Every day presents opportunities to love, forgive, apologize, repent, serve, teach, testify and give. I am so thankful to have the scriptures as my ultimate guide to parenting. In them I find what to teach, why I should teach those things, and how to teach them. Every Sunday we attend our church meetings, where I help organize and plan the music that will be shared. The hymns are a special source of peace, joy and comfort to me. Besides prayer, and reading the scriptures, singing hymns is the most effective way for me to instantly feel close to God. I have loved to sing my whole life, I met my husband singing, and now I try to share my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with my children by singing as much as we can!
