Hi I'm Pete Howlett

I grew up in England and now live in Wales. I'm a musical instrument maker building ukulele for a living. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Most of my life has been spent working with my hands, building and making things. I have the great privilege of building musical instruments - ukulele and get a buzz from doing something that will live beyond my natural life span. I made a family also and have 9 grandchildren being raised in the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents practiced no religious faith so when I married a Latter Day Saint girl I had no reason to go to Church with her. Understanding home teachers had a different idea and after a couple of years I joined the Church. As the home teachers taught me the gospel, questions I had no answers for were answered and soon, the empty spaces in my understanding of my life here were filled. I cannot think of any other thing worth doing more than joining the Church. There can be no peace or happiness equal to the comfort of truly knowing who you are, why you are here and where you are going.

How I live my faith

For me making musical instruments is done in partnership with God. I serve him by taking his creation and doing something amazing with it. To do this with a cheerful heart and to expect that He will fill in for all my inadequacies qualifies my whole life. As I serve His creative purpose in making things I also seek to help others and be kind to all.
