Hi I'm Katie

I'm a Mormon. I am a convert to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized when I was 12 and am now 19.

About Me

I am an artist that expresses my self in many forms. I come from a divorced and live with my dad. I am also the oldest of three boys. Being the only girl in the house has its ups and downs. My dad, brothers, and I are the only members in my entire family. I come from a long line of addicts, who range from a number of addictions. To add to this chain I am a recovering addict thanks to this church. They have an amazing Addiction Recovery Program (ARP). I joined this church because i believe it to be true. When I got lost in my addictions truth angered me and I almost left this religion for fear that I would be judged and rejected. However, when the truth came out my bishop only loved me and pointed me to ARP. I can honestly say that without this beautiful church my art would not be were it is today, I would not have the understanding I do today, my addictions would have completely consumed me and I probably would not be hear.

Why I am a Mormon

This beautiful religion has answered every question I have ever asked, and let me tell you I had a lot of questions. They do not pressure you to be Mormon, but rather to be the best person you can be. They love and except you for you and wish you the best in life. They are a happy people because they understand life's major keys. They know that families will be together forever. They know who they were, who they are, and who they will always be. That they are loved children of God who knows their needs and is mindful of each one of them. That every soul is great in the eyes of the Lord and he will never forsake them. They love those who can not love them selves. For that, I love them.

How I live my faith

I accept callings so I may help those in need of help and love. I pray all day everyday so I may have a better relationship with my Heavenly Father. I read my scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, and Ensigns). I go to my ARP meetings and share my testimony of the church and recovery. I try to live by example, being the best Christan I can be by always loving my neighbor and helping them in whatever way I can. Yes, sometimes my neighbor is making it had to love them at the moment, but the ones that are the hardest to love are the ones that need it the most.
