Hi I'm Kaycie

I am currently taking a break from school as I prepare to serve a mission and preach the gospel in the Netherlands. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Belgium and the Netherlands, dutch speaking! I love it! I am a history major, chocoholic, movie lover, kind of a nerd, and I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I loved it but when I was thirteen years old I knew it was time I stopped hanging on to the testimony of my parents and to discover for myself. I was at a youth camp and before I even asked I felt the love of my Father in heaven at the beautiful world that was surrounding me. I prayed. Asked my Father. Spoke to him as I would a father here on earth. And I have a testimony he listens. He knows me individually and loves me in that sweet way a father loves his daughter but so much deeper.I am a Mormon because it brings me the sweetest joy and strength. The knowledge gained through this gospel that God speaks to his children and answers our prayers today has been the ultimate guiding factor in my personal revelation. I know God speaks to his children, I know he loves all of them and knows each of us personally. Our Savior died for us. What greater example of love is there? All so we could return to our Father in Heaven. I know God answers prayers and he has brought peace and love to my soul regarding the Prophet Joseph Smith and all he did to help bring about this gospel and I know this church is the church of Christ.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission in the Belgium/Netherlands mission! I get the privelege to go out every day and give people the message of the Gospel that makes me so unbelievably happy, as well as the hope that comes with it!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Kaycie
Once you have tasted the sweetness of this gospel and know of the joy and truth it brings you gain a burning desire to share it with others. What may look like a huge sacrifice on the missionaries part I have seen that the immense blessings they receive serving the lord counteracts any sacrifice made. We have been blessed with the gospel and therefore as Christians we try to model ourselves after Christ and teach his teachings to others. Even outside of serving an official mission for the church we try to share it with others in our every day lives. After all it is natural human instinct to find something you are passionate about that makes you happy and you want to share it with the world. And that is what the Gospel is for me. This immense light in my life that I think would be selfish of me not to share. Show more Show less
