Hi I'm Chad

I grew up in Colorado and enjoy playing basketball, and hiking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student who is taking a break from school to serve a 2 year mission. I am also a racquetball player and love playing people with my left hand and then if they start beating me, I switch to my right hand and use the line from Princess Diaries of "I'm not left handed". I also love Basketball. I enjoy pushing myself to be better especially in keeping my body physically fit. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family. Family trips have enabled me to grow closer to each of my siblings and to my Mother and Father. Life is fun and I enjoy activities that allow me to progress towards my goals (having an eternal family, a good job, and time to spend with my family). Spending my time wisely has keep me on track for achieving these goals and has helped me to be happy as I seek to accomplish the desires of my heart. I like to joke around and enjoy myself. Having a good time, and helping others to have fun and love life is important. I love to eat food especially chocolate chip cookies. I also love to read Books like the Hobbit or Elantris.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church for my whole life. Yet my testimony has come as I have gone through the personal experience of feeling Gods love for me. I continue to follow the gospel because of the continued witness from the Holy Ghost, which comes to me when I read the scriptures every day and ponder the words of the prophets. I am a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is true. As I have read the Book of Mormon I have felt it change my life. The principles and doctrine that I read feel right and give me good feelings about myself and others. My testimony of the Book of Mormon has come as I have studied the word of the prophets. Each time I read verses and really ponder what is said I grow in faith. As I have read and as I repent each and every day I feel my faith in Jesus Christ grow. I have a hope for the future that someday I will be able to be married for time and all eternity in the temple. The Church of Jesus Christ is true. I know that my experiences in this life are for my good and help me come closer to God. I love how being a Mormon helps me grow closer to my family and to my friends. All who really seek after God and follow his doctrine will as they pray receive awnsers from God. I know this because he has always awnsered my prayers.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This means that I spend all my time teaching the restored gospel. I go and visit ward members who aren't coming to church and try to become there friends and help them come back and endure to the end. I know that as we really change our lives by following Jesus Christ to the best of our abilities, we will grow in faith, with a hope of a better world. I know that good works enable us to come closer to Jesus Christ and returning to live with our Heavenly Father. We all have trials and tribulations in this life. We can look at anyone we know and think there life is perfect, but I am sure that they have many trials as well. Some trials are easier to see like an addiction to smoking. Others are more hidden. That is why I live my faith best by loving all others, no matter what. I have no idea if my fellow human beings are hurting inside so i try my best to smile often and help them be happy by joking around or making sure that they are okay when there hurting. A kind word and a smile can do a lot more then a frowny face and sad words.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

We baptize people because we know that baptism is central to returning and living together with our famalies in the celestial kingdom. We know that as we are baptized and follow Christ we can have a remission of sins and return to our heavenly father with our famalies. No unclean thing can into into the kingdom of God. Baptism cleans s and as we continue to follow gods commandments we will keep that remission of sins as we take the sacrament each week. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

We are Christians, we live our lives centered around Jesus Christ. The reason mormon missianries go around knocking on doors and talking to people in parking lots, isn't because they want to. Its because they have a faith in the Atonement of Jesus Christ and in his teachings. The atonement and following Jesus Christ is central in being a Mormon. Saying Mormons arn't Christians is like saying the Sun isn't hot. Show more Show less

Emergency preparedness is important to members because the prophet has asked us to be prepared, as well as if there is a big storm you want to have food to survive, or if you lose your job. What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

The Temple is a place where we do ordinances for people who have passed on, who cannot do the ordinances for themselves. These Ordinances are needed for helping us return to live with our Heavenly Father. The Church is a place where we go on Sundays and take the sacrament and where visitors can come and learn about Jesus Christ with us. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Sometimes we are refered to as Mormons because we believe in a Book called the Book of Mormon which is about ancient prophets in America. It makes me feel good to be called a Mormon because it can bring the attention of the person to what that word means. That it is in fact a name of a prophet. Show more Show less
