Hi I'm McKay

I'm a Mormon and I have no catchy phrase.

About Me

I am from Las Vegas, NV born and raised!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon but my conversion came at age 17 when I wanted to know if the Church is true. I knew that if I knelt down and asked my Father in Heaven if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true or not he would let me know. I received an answer to my prayer and I know this church is true. We are all entitled to personal revelation.

How I live my faith

I try to live a life that is consistent with the teachings of Christ and that is my way of showing my love to my Savior.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

McKay
We hold the Bible in very high regards, it has great truths in it that help us in our daily life. The Book of Mormon does not replace the Bible it only complements it. They work together very well as you study them side by side one working with the other. Christ loves all of us equally which is why he went and visited the Americas. The only way you can know of the truth of the Book of Mormon is by kneeling down to Heavenly Father and asking him, with faith in God we are promised an Answer. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

McKay
Mormons are not required to serve a mission. We are given the ability to choose for ourselves from God the Father and we believe that to be true in all situations in life. The church does not force you to do anything, that is not the way Christ's church would perform. We have the blessed opportunity to choose to serve a mission. It is a blessing for those that choose to do so. We do not get paid to serve a mission rather we pay to serve a mission. It is an expression of our love and devotion to our Father in Heaven and to Jesus Christ's church. I am serving a mission right now and it has brought my family and I so many blessings. I made the decision on my own and I couldn't have been happier with my decision to do so. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

McKay
The Priesthood is the Power and Authority to act in God's name. The priesthood is used to administer sacred ordinances such as: The Sacrament, Blessings for those that are sick and Baptism. The Priesthood is a tremendous gift given to God's children on earth. I know that the authority to act in God's name is once again on this earth as it has been in times past. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

McKay
The Book of Mormon is a prized compilation of scripture. It was written by prophets of old that lived and taught in the Americas. It was later translated from another language by Joseph Smith, a prophet, through continaul revelation from God into the English language. It was later distributed in other languages as well. Jospeh Smith called on the powers of Heaven and asked for help from Heavenly Father in translating this scripture. Joseph was a unlearned man and needed much help from Heavenly Father to accomplish this task. Through continaul prayer and diligence he was able to perform this work for God. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

McKay
"when we want to speak to God, we pray. And when we want Him to speak to us, we search the scriptures.." Robert D. Hales The scriptures are the answers to our questions. When we have a concern we search the scriptures and they can provide us with insight and help us along the path to righteousness. The scriptures have helped lead and direct my life. The scriptures are so special to me because that is how I came to know the Jesus Chirst is my Savior and redeemer. That is how I came to know that there is a loving Heavenly Father who wants to help us. Indeed I have learned a lot from the holy scriptures because they are the word of God. Show more Show less
