Hi I'm Cody

Adrenaline is my favorite flavor. I love the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Cody Henkel and I like pretty much any sport with a board! Wakeboarding, snowboarding, longboarding, and hitting the dunes in the winter are my favorite things to do. I also like working on my truck and spending time with my family. I live in the sweltering state of Arizona and am currently preparing to serve full-time in the Brazil, Sao Paulo East Mission on February 27th, 2013!

Why I am a Mormon

Most kids my age go to church for one of two reasons. The first one being because Mom says so and the second being because they have a testimony of Jesus Christ. I am proud to say that I am a Latter-Day Saint because I have a testimony. My testimony started when I was at a Boy Scout Camp in 2008. My scout leader brought myself and all the boys down the side of a mountain on a dark, summer night. We started off the meeting with an opening prayer and went right into a testimony meeting in which all the boys and leaders bore their testimony in the dark where nobody could see us crying our eyes out. During this meeting I started to feel a warm, tingling sensation cover my cold body. I then began to feel the Spirit so strong that it made me re-think my life. I was having a change of heart. After this meeting I felt as though I was a completely different person. This experience as well as many others are what have built my testimony to be what it is today. The gospel is and always will be the way to supernal happiness both on earth and in the world to come. I know from experience that if I live my life in accordance with the gospel that Jesus Christ instituted, I will find so much joy and be able to help others out in this life.

How I live my faith

I love participating in my local church meetings and they have literally made me what I am today. Things like mutual, which are weekly activities for the youth, among other youth programs the church has put out make living the gospel so much funner. I also enjoyed going to Especially For Youth, a 5 day church camp, very much and just doing my best every day to follow the example of Jesus Christ.
