Hi I'm Tracy

I'm an artist, teacher, wife, and mother of five. I love creating, dancing, sharing and connecting with people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Alaska where I met my husband and married him in the Anchorage Temple. We relocated to west Texas where we have been living since. I graduated in Art Education and love sharing my talents whenever I get the chance. I love teaching private art lessons, as well as sharing my love of art and beauty with my children. My second child, my son Peter, passed away in November of 2011, a short 51 days after birth, due to a chromosome abnormality known as Trisomy 18. This experience has brought us closer together as a family, reinforced our desire to live worthy to meet him again in the Celestial Kingdom, and helps us make sure we keep the covenants we have made in the Temple with our Heavenly Father so that we can be together forever as a family. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the peace and comfort it brings. I believe that if we ask the Lord for help through trials and pains, we will be able to bear them and make it through anything that happens to us in life. For more information about our experience with Peter and our lives/beliefs, please visit our blog, The Podge Files.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born and raised in the Church, I have always had a belief and testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. As I grew older and attended various youth activities, I had the opportunity to feel the Spirit testify to me personally and touch my heart and spirit. Through these sacred experiences I have grown to know the truthfulness of the gospel. Having gone through a miscarriage, death of a child, as well as having other family members sick and afflicted, I rely heavily on my testimony of Eternal Families, the resurrection, and the Atonement. I honestly don't know how people can go through painful experiences like these without the knowledge of the gospel and the comfort that it brings. The companionship of the Holy Ghost is a blessing that I rely on frequently as I seek peace, comfort, and answers to problems. I try to live my life worthy of his constant companionship.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday with my family for three hours where I currently serve as a teacher for one of the adult classes. I love leading discussions and hearing all the experiences and insights of those in class. I also serve as a mentor and teacher for the young women age 12-18 and help them make and accomplish goals through the Personal Progress program. I love working with the youth and being able to share with them. In the past I have also had the opportunity to teach teenagers, young children, and serve in the children (Primary) and women (Relief Society) presidencies. I love teaching and especially enjoy spending time with the youth as they learn and grow to meet their divine potential. Once a month I visit several ladies to share a spiritual message and check in with them. This opportunity has helped me make new friends with ladies that have enriched my own life as I have tried to serve them. I've made wonderful friendships and learned and grown from their experiences. I love sharing my testimony and teaching my children the gospel at home. We try to have daily family scripture study and prayer, and a weekly family night where we can teach and spend time together learning about our Savior and His gospel.
