Hi I'm Doug Yancey

I'm a pro photographer. I'm a Mormon since 1965.

About Me

I am married with four children. My current hobby is restoring old abandoned cemeteries. I enjoy studying history and visiting historic sites.

Why I am a Mormon

My first contact with Mormons was when I stopped to help a couple of young men who were pushing a car off the road. They happened to be LDS missionaries. Up to that time I was a happy Protestant. I found Mormon teachings to be comprehensive and fulfilling. Most of my religious questions have been answered in the years I have been a Mormon. I am now more happy than before.

How I live my faith

I joined the Church as a young man and was called on a mission less than a year after my baptism. After my mission I served in various callings such as Young Mens president, ward mission leader and singles rep, ward missionary, scoutmaster, bishop, high priest group leader and high council member. I am the president of my neighborhood association and am active in several local political causes.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Doug Yancey
My testimony came gradually over a period of time. I believe a testimony is a sublime gift from God to those who seek it and are prepared and worthy to receive it. A testimony is not a subjective experience but an external revelation from a divine Source. Show more Show less
