Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 beautiful children. It was always the plan for me to stay home with the kids while they were/are young. I have a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and plan to be an elementary school teacher once the kids are older. For now, my days are filled with cooking, cleaning, chauffeuring, homework time, reading stories, church callings, and teaching piano lessons. I love going on dates with my husband, reading, visiting the coast, taking family vacations, getting a good deal/couponing, and keeping up with friends on Facebook.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born into the church. My parents were raised LDS and so was I. I have always believed what was taught at church. Even as a child it was so easy to feel the Spirit and know that these teachings were true. Some may say that a child can't really know if religious beliefs are true, but I did! It wasn't until I was a teenager that I really started to explore my beliefs. I began to read the scriptures daily, attend seminary, work on my own Personal Progress, and daily prayer. I tried so hard to be obedient to the commandments and to be a good example to my friends. Sometimes this example was not acceptable - even from my LDS friends. But I persevered because I knew that I needed to be steadfast in my belief. By doing all these things I truly began to develop a solid and firm testimony of the Gospel. I read the entire Book of Mormon and put Moroni's challenge to the test. I was not surprised by the answer I received. The Book of Mormon was/is true. I always knew it was (even from early childhood). But now, I'd received my own personal answer from Heavenly Father to that specific prayer. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that it teaches the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that if I abide by it's teachings that I can return to live with Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith with my everyday life. I pray with my family before meals and at bedtime. Our family reads the scriptures daily and has taken a challenge given on January 1, 2012 to read the entire Book of Mormon together by June 2012. I try hard to be a better person each day and try to live as the Savior did. I share my example with others in the community that I come in contact with. I devote my time and talents to organizing activities for the women at church. These activities are meant to build up the women and teach them skills to better themselves, their homes, and the community. I get to visit 3 women each month. I bring these ladies a message of the gospel and genuine friendship. We visit and discuss the everyday happenings. We laugh and cry together and share our testimonies of the Gospel. My husband and I take time to visit the temple as often as possible. We have been blessed with a temple right here in our city!
