Hi I'm Mel

I'm the youngest of 6. I want to change the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Running is a new found love for me, I haven't done it for a while, but I have enjoyed getting into it. I love being with children and watching them play and learn. I am about to graduate with my Bachelor's in the School of Family Life, emphasis on Human Development. Not too long ago, I had the opportunity to go on a non-affiliated service trip to Panama, and help families and individuals in need. It was such a neat experience. I love trying new things and going to new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen in my life to be a Mormon, because the standards, although seemingly strict, have helped me to live life in a way I will never regret. I have been so blessed to be around so many people who love the Savior and want to live like Him. Growing up, I sort of just went through the motions of living the way that I was taught, but now I have a deep understanding and love for the principles taught in the LDS church, and I am grateful for the way they have blessed me.

How I live my faith

Right now I am in charge of the women's society in my ward. It has been so fun to get to know the other women who believe as I do, and I have grown to love them. It is a wonderful thing, because when I am stressed or down, it seems like someone is right there to pick me up and help with anything I might need.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

I was able to go on a service trip for about a week where a group of friends and I helped anyone we could. We were inspired by the great example of the LDS church's missionaries and volunteers who help people everyday through service. It was a neat experience, and it reminded me that Jesus Christ helped everyone that He could, not only those who believed as He did. Show more Show less
