Hi I'm Nuria

I love my family. I love music. I love Puerto Rico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am simply someone who lives in gratitude for how, where, and with whom I live my life. To begin with with whom, my little family consists of my wonderful husband and our two beautiful little girls. Now on to how I live my life: I have the opportunity to do and be two things that I have always wanted to do and be: be a mother and teach and edify others through music. And last, but not least, where: I have the opportunity to live on my beloved island of Puerto Rico where I was raised. We have lived in other places that are very nice, but we have the great blessing of being able to live and raise our family in a place that is wonderful even though it is not perfect, but which we feel is ours, and we strive to contribute in any way we can. In addition to that, I have the dream of visiting Italy some day. I would like to know more about photography, and my favorite meal is breakfast.

Why I am a Mormon

I could begin by talking about everything I get from being a Mormon: Guidance, certainty, hope, perspective, knowledge, countless blessings, etc. I could consider all those things as reasons for my being a Mormon. However, they are the result of it, not exactly the reason for it. I'm a Mormon because I have felt and I know that God has restored His true Church through the Prophet Joseph Smith and, along with that, the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I have felt and I know that the Book of Mormon is a sacred book of scripture reserved for our day, and it is the word of God. I'm a Mormon because I know that God still speaks with man, and He does so through our living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I'm a Mormon because I have asked and have received an answer, and I confirm it every day.

How I live my faith

What I do is help others through music. I have the opportunity to help children learn songs that teach them about Jesus Christ and what He taught and did. It is impressive how a simple song can go such a long way in teaching and helping them feel those truths. I never get tired of teaching, seeing the enthusiasm in their eyes when something new is presented to them, how they practice it, and how they master it. They love it when I accompany them on the piano. I also like being able to use my knowledge to contribute to music programs that edify the participants as well as the audience. It takes a lot of time and effort, but in the end, if only one heart is softened through the music, it is worth it.
