Hi I'm Angie Pamela Wong Diaz

Angie Wong, Costa Rican. I was born in the gospel, I am married, I have three children. I am a cook and I am a Mormon. I am the happy Chinese woman.

About Me

I have a passion for cooking and eating. My cooking show is different because I teach the gospel and cooking as a family, which is important. In the kitchen we learn unity, create traditions, and show love; we help each other, we give thanks, and we share with our children. That is what my parents taught me, and it is what I have taught my children from when they were little. Using recipes, courses, and workshops, I teach sisters and ladies how to develop themselves with self-reliance in the home. It is not easy for women who have problems in life, a home, work, and children, but it can be done. Every day I get up in the morning and pray to begin a new, beautiful day. I smile and am happy so it will be easy. I am very busy with my work as the mother of three little children. They are my priority in life. My wonderful husband is my pillar. We do the show as a couple and help each other as a family. I try to fulfill my goals in life and give the best of myself, the only woman on the channel who works on that show is a righteous and sole member, and I always try to help others. But I know that I teach the gospel, and I am an example to myself and to others.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the Church. I am a Mormon. In this life I have learned as a teenager, I have matured, and I have met my own criteria. Through my own experiences, I have come to understand that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church. I have prayed to understand it, and I have received my answer. Every day I confirm it through my blessings and my opportunities to progress. I know that I am a daughter of God, that He exists, that He gave me Jesus as my Savior, and that only I decide whether I will follow Him or not. He has answered my prayers. In my life, I have come to understand that we have to see the positive in our trials to improve as individuals. Thus, with the gospel it is even easier to overcome the difficulties of life. That is what the gospel has taught me in my everyday life. I see it in my children when I teach them the gospel, and when they just say a prayer and give thanks and ask for something like the children they are. That is why I know without a doubt that it is true, because I see it in my personal life and in that of my family. It makes us stronger.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving; that is what the Master taught. I remember back when I set myself the goal of serving in the local retirement home. I offered them a Christmas dinner, brought them presents, and gave of my time to read to them or just listen to them tell their stories. It was a unique experience. I learned a lot, and we helped together with the youth of the Church. On the TV show, I apply what I have learned about food storage and homemaking in order to face difficult times with a more positive attitude so I can be successful. Every day, I live my faith as a person and with my family in order to improve. I am not perfect, but I try to improve in the things I do to help those who need it the most. I love helping others and teaching what little I know. A cooking recipe is like faith. In the gospel, different ingredients are needed to make the food perfect. It is the same way with faith, the gospel, love, family, charisma, and being an example. By helping our fellow man with these and many other things, we will be able to cook great food. We all have the ingredients in our kitchen, but we don't know how to use them properly to make a special dish. Likewise, we must apply those ingredients in our daily lives to add flavor to our food and our lives. The gospel teaches us that and more, so let us apply all that to our faith.
