Victoria: Mormon.

Hi I'm Victoria

About Me

I am a huge family nut. I have four sisters and a brother. Three of which are step-siblings. But, that does not matter to me. My family is the most important thing in the world to me and I would do anything for any of them. I go to school at BYU- Idaho and am studying Elementary Education. I love children and always have since as long as I can remember. One of my dreams is to travel the world. A couple years ago I did a study abroad in Jerusalem. There I traveled to a lot of the surrounding countries and fell in love with the people and with Traveling. I have also been to Turkey, Belgium and the Netherlands. I love learning about new cultures and meeting so many wonderful people. I am a huge mountain girl. I love hiking and grew up riding horses. Any time that I can find to be in the mountains I will take it. I also love swimming and basketball. I try to have a positive attitude in everything that I do so that even when things are hard I can still see the joy in life. There are so many things in the world to be grateful for you just have to open your eyes and look.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. My mom joined the church before I was born and she has since raised all her children in the church. Many people say that you just stay in the religion that you were raised in. It is familiar, comfortable and thats all you know. Well, that may be true for some people but not for me. I did a lot of investigating about a lot of other churches. Let's just be honest, there are a lot of churches in the world and a lot of beliefs. It can be confusing and hard to come to a conclusion of what is right. I looked into many different religions and churches because I wanted to make sure I was doing what God wanted me to do. I am a mormon because I have found truth. Plain and simple. Everything I read and study for myself just makes sense. I dont just believe what other people tell me. I find out for myself what is true. There is no other church that has the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel the spirit so strong at church and love that in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints I can constantly be learning and growing. I love knowing that I have a purpose in life and that I can one day live with my Father in Heaven, Jesus Christ and with my family forever, if I do my part while I am here on Earth. I am a Mormon because I know that the Church is true and I have found happiness that will not just last in this life but will last forever.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is a wonderful gift that we are given as Children of our Heavenly Father. Our Father in Heaven wants to hear from us and wants what is best for us. The way I know that this is true is because I have seen miracles in my life occur because I have prayed. Prayer is not something to take lightly. It should be done with reverance and great thought. Prayer has helped me in every aspect of my life. No matter what happens in my life: good or bad, I know that Heavenly Father is always ready to listen and ready to help. Something I have found out in my own life is that God may not answer prayers how we want or how we expect. He may not even answer them right away. But, I know that he listens and that he DOES answer prayers. He answers them in the way that we need them whether we realize it or not. Everything happens for a reason and most of the time it happens so that we can learn and grow and progress. I am so grateful for a loving Father in Heaven who listen to the prayers of His child, me, and to the prayers of all of His children.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly trying to do what is right. There is nothing in this world that we can not overcome. No matter how hard the trial, no matter what obstacle is thrown in your path, there is always a way to overcome and conquer the hardships that you are given. The way I try to overcome my trials is by doing what I think God expects of me. I try to do whats right by reading my scriptures, by praying constantly to my Father in Heaven, by going to church, and by taking every opportunity to love those around me. I feel that it is charity that will bring you close to God. If you love those around you and love and worship God, the rest just falls into place. You will automatically want to be a better person and want to do what is right.
